First indoor grow for TRay

@DEEPDIVERDAVE

Thanks bro. I’ll fine tune it.

This was my first run without domes or solo cups. I did use the ACI humidifier for the first 4 weeks above ground and kept the RH around 65-70%. I have a good deal of ACI equipment but no controllers and I don’t chase VPD :love_you_gesture:

Chart should say Seedlings & Clones.

@OGIncognito has the experience, supported with good luck.
Truely an amazing combo.

@OGIncognito what were your methods besides luck? That was a great grow.

No luck really just keep it simple. This was a run of 23 photo regulars. 18 were some Land race strains I crossed. Good growing medium, environmental conditions in check and monitor nutrients and lighting. Super simple approach and the plants will tell you what they need when their not happy :love_you_gesture:

I’m not there yet but if the wife lets me, I will be. I’ll couldn’t get tomatoes to grow not far back. Right on.

Pass or fail, I’m gonna do a journal. Should be fun to watch me try no to curse on the forum.

Fooling around with settings to get my VPD to average 1.0. It was staying between .69-.76. I bumped up the light to 10 at the highest part of the tent, turned down the humidifier to a max of 7 and a min of 3. My PPHd is around 180. Triggers for the exhaust and humidifier are set at 1.0 for low and 1.2 for high.

@moderators , could you please move this post to grow journals?

Thank you for all you do here.

Made my first big mistake. Had the tent humming along at 70+% humidity and 80 degrees for these two brand new babies. They just broke ground a few days ago. I placed them in the tent on the floor but I didn’t think about all the water that collects on the floor. The little pots have holes in the bottom and still covered with domes. Went to place a few drops around the babies and whoa! The pots were heavy in water saturation and the babies looked sick. So I guess I should have thought about that and put them on something that separated them from the water in the floor. Dropped two more seeds in water and will need to think about this.

I set my pots on risers inside of drain pans. I do that with my house plants as well. Well wife’s lol. I water my sprouts with eye dropper in circle. Standard I think. I’ve read other methods as well. Whatever works for you.

Edit: glad you got your tent driving the way you like it.

I have that equipment. That’s how finicky this business is for a newb

Did you get this to work with the vpd triggers? It always sent my automation into a tailspin since raising temp lowers humidity and vice versa. This post is somewhat dated but I found a pretty happy balance with the automation settings that my plants have been loving. I found the trick was to actually have less programmed rather than more. I set my inline fans for max temp and humidity. I set my heater for minimum temp. I set my humidifier for minimum humidity. I space the max and min by 1 degrees instead of messing with their transition stuff and it holds everything pretty well. I have inlines 2 min and 7 max. I have the rest 0 min and 6 max. Checkout a screenshot of my programming below.

Oh and I found it helps to create an automation for each device rather than for say VPD verse Temp control settings. I tried that too at first but it made reprogramming between stages more difficult and if you give each device it’s own automation it’s easier to turn just that piece of equipment on and off for maintenance or if it’s running weird and throwing the tent off. Not really an issue once it’s dialed in but I kept mine that way even after and find it to be a little more user friendly for my brain at least when I get the itch to fix things that aren’t broken.
