These were transplanted 7 days ago, they are almost 4 weeks old. They had a really bad start, I got them to look better. And then I’ve had little to no growth in the past 5 days.
I was gonna flush when they are closer to needing water tomorrow. But I don’t know if that’s the right idea or where to go from there
Check under the leaves with a microscope. Look for little bugs or small webs and small round eggs. The tiny specks on your leaves look like spider mite bites. They will dead stop growing when that young if you have mites.
Unless you want to CLEAN and disinfect everything and start fresh, you will need to remove plants and clean tent/room and everything in it. You can spray your girls with Captain Jacks Deadbug, make sure to get the whole plant, underneath and all. Spray them every 3-4 days for two weeks. If you have a sealed grow area, hang a Hot Shot no pest strip in there at lights out and shut down all fans. They kill mites with vapors and don’t need to touch plants or mites to work. Take it out before lights on and crank fans back up. Don’t stay in there with strips too long, they recommend no more than 4 hours exposure for humans. The vapor works on their nervous system and they die! I also keep some rosemary and chives in my grow room for companion plants as mites hate the smell of both. Once they are gone, keep up a program of regular checks and prevention to keep them from coming back even worse.
Okay I will buy the captain jacks tomorrow from Walmart. I am outdoor with these girls, will captain jacks be enough with regular use? I also use Monterey B.T. On Friday, And neem oil on Sunday every week.
Only use in early veg. Not in flower, as it is absorbed and does not rinse with a bud wash. Find another product that is fruit/flower safe and rotate between it and the Captain Jacks.
The Jacks should do it, but you need to rotate treatments to keep them from growing resistant to one thing. Neem will help but I don’t use it, I tend to go a bit heavy handed on them but I want them dead yesterday!! Inside is a lot easier to control and treat. You can also try crop defender or Trifecta, there’s lots of products out there that will help. They usually show up at flowering time, but they are a PITA anytime!
I go between captain usually and Arbor organic Insecticide. The Arbor is good on aphids and caterpillars. I use the concentrated form of both brands and mix at about 1.5x strength
Okay awesome I will pick up both of those from Walmart tomorrow then. How do you rotate between the two? Do I do captain one week and then arber the next?
Also are those both safe to use at flowering time as well? I have some other plants that have no signs of pests, but are starting to flower that I would like to protect too
I’ve had flea beetles and had to spray every day with no negative effects. I just rotated every couple of days to prevent the bugs developing a resistance
Yep, up until harvest. But, even indoors, if you have an insect or pest problem, aaaand you have to spray your plants, a thorough bud wash is darn near mandatory. You’d be surprised all the residue and dead bugs that come off a fresh harvest
I am thinking my stuff Indoor is fine, i haven’t had issues yet indoor. But I will be spraying the mix between the two now too prevent anything incase. This might sound dumb, but I’ve never even heard of a bud wash. I hate asking so many questions but how do I do that? Is it what it sounds like?
Watching that video is slightly terrifying! But If I see any problem, and I’m spraying during that time 100% am going to do that. It doesn’t seem as hard as I pictured it in my head, but the idea is still scary… thank you for the info, I will put an update on here in a few days when I know more about my bug situation!
we use food grade diatomaceous earth (DE) with a duster. spray the top of the soil real good and the leaves, top and bottom. it’s worked wonders in our garden and indoors plants! takes a few days to kill off if its a infestation. just re apply every so often if needed.
