I have about a half tote of timmings that i wanna find the easiest way to infuse butter or oil. What does everyone do? I have bruce banner, blue dream and runtz. Will be my first time infusing anything.

Jist got a levo2. Have nothing to compare it to since it’s the only thing I’ve tried. Very simple very effective very versatile.

Im really liking it. Infused oil and honey. Gonna do butter tomorrow. It can dry, decarboxalate, and infuse.

I have used the trim in a crockpot.1-2 oz of trim ,2pounds of butter or 2-3 jars of coconut oil.cook on low 4-6 hrs strain the mix thru cheese cloth.return to jars and refrigerate.I’ve decarbed and not decarbed with no difference.
When making brownies/cookies just use your oil/butter as directed.I also add an additional egg.if doing brownies buy a good quality mix.
Note- more trim less oil/butter will be more potent.
Effect from baked goods usually take effect in 1 - 1 1/2 hrs.and last a good while.
Im sure there are better more elaborate methods but this works for me.easy cheap and effective.

@Mateo Thank you for that information. I’ll have to try it here soon. Have about half a tote of trimmings I would like to use without throwing them away. I like a cheap effective way before spending alot of money right away. Would you recommend getting rid of the fan leaves or do you use them also while during the process?

Levo2 and the STX infuser both sound like great investments.

Does anyone have an idea on how long I can keep trimming without them being not viable anymore? I would hate to go through the process and have to throw everything out.

The most cost-effective way to infuse is by using a crock pot. The upside is it requires very little to get oil but the downside is it produces a very ‘weedy’ tasting product. This is true of the Levo and the MBM.

I did this for years until investing in a Source Turbo: with this you can extract the oil directly from the plant material and, depending on your wash technique, can produce anything from dabs to edible oils.

Was worried about me breaking my Source and picked up one on Ebay for $200. It’s like new, with a lot less wear than mine.

When using the crock pot, would you just put your trimmings in or would you have to make them abit smaller without the fan leaves or do you use the fans? This would be my first time doing this kind of kind and don’t wanna mess it up. Is there a certain oil or butter you would use?

I always ditch the fan leaves: we usually pick a few during veg for salads though. There is no THC present in them so it just adds more ‘weedy’ taste to the oil.

I do decarboxylate before adding to the crock pot.

That said I’ve since bought a Source Turbo which is infinitely superior to cooking plant material.

How do you decarb? I’m all new to this and want to learn to get the most out of everything.

The best way I’ve found is to put your plant material in a Ball jar with the lid loosely sealed, place in a 240F oven for 40 minutes.

Thank you everyone. I just decarbed about a 3/4 jar of trimmings and will start infusing some oil to make some brownies later. The next thing I wanna try is gummies. If anyone has a good recipe, please share.
