I’m trimming my plants today and was wondering what to save to make butter with. Should I only be saving the trimmed leaves that have trichomes on them?
You can use all of what is let just like making wax
I know people that make butter with just regular leaf and love it. The guys wife was way up there .
Is there THC in the fan leaves also?

Yes there is. As joshawa mentioned not as high of a concentration as bud but yes the stuff makes a decent butter. Actually I wouldn’t eat one because he bragged that he was still messed up the next day at work from a single cookie the prior evening.
I make wax from all my leftover cutting stalk and all an wow is it good you just don’t get much

Do you need to dry and cure the trim before making butter?
Yes, like bud, trimmings and leaf isn’t as potent when it’s first picked. I think it has something to do with sugars needing to transform into potency. (Couldn’t think of how to say that.
Dry yes but curing isn’t needed cause it doesn’t take much for the sugars to break down in the trimming expecially if you hang an dry most of what is in them moves to the bud’s
Since I am a first time grower, I have no idea what size/es the trim will be. How do you suggest drying?
Some use a paper bag, and dry it for a week or so. Open the bag once or twice a day

for you guys making butter.I have 1.25oz. of trimmings with small buds mixed in.There is no fan leaves in this ! I plan to add 1.25 lbs of butter and a little water to cover the greens and cook on low for 4 hrs. then strain with cheese cloth and chill over night.
My questions next is when using the butter how much do I use per serving.
I have never done this and any suggestions would be very nice.
If you’re baking anything use the butter like oil and use the recommended amount the recipe calls for. For anything else just use it as you would normally use butter. Enjoy
Are you saying substitute for oil? Then add more butter per recipe
Example: If a recipe calls for 1/2 cup of oil, melt the butter to a 1/2 cup. That’s all.
I used trim and popcorn buds to make tincture for candy, I used a bit more than what they said in the recipe, and it turned out fine. I plan on doing the same with butter and or oil for cookies and brownies. I did cure and dry it before using it.
