Best way to sex regular seeds

Shopping around I found a few strains I’d like to try. However they are regular seeds meaning not feminized . Just wondering if there’s any way other than sprouting seeds and wait till they show sex . To determine what sex they are

Farmer freeman dot com. Once they get so many leaves u send in a sample of 1 and they can tell u male or female

I think @Tylersays has sent samples off to be tested.

Cool thanks I’ll take a look

I haven’t grown any regulars since I found this so I haven’t had a chance to test it out but if it’s right it would be nice

@Not2SureYet has had a good track record using this to sex seeds. That said; he and @Nicky have both sent in samples to be sex’ed. It’s around $10 per sample.

If you grow out a ‘regular’ plant you will see amazing growth over hybridized strains (in general).

:thinking::thinking:, right on @MeEasy. Interesting and curious on the validity of this?? You have me going through my beans right now :joy::joy::love_you_gesture:

Yeah I can’t remember where I got this but if you are growing regulars and keep track to see if it’s true please let me know. I’ve got a bunch of regulars that I really like but stopped growing them because of obvious issues growing indoors (space)… because I agree with what Myfriend said regulars grow bigger, stronger, and faster

Will do Brother. I was gifted a lot of Auto regulars and will test that on my next run. Regulars are more vigorous than fems, found that out the first run with feminized beans, I threw a regular sac seed in the mix and she grew taller and survived heat, bugs etc way better :love_you_gesture:

Thanks everyone. At 10 bucks a seed (ridiculous I know but if you want a certain strain I guess) not worth it to me to spend another 10 to find out sex
(Do they have gender revile party’s) I will record what they look like and see if it holds true
But old school still works

That is interesting I have seen this somewhere before I don’t remember where. It would drive me nuts looking at those little seeds. I don’t think I’d be brave enough to bet the bank on it. :v:

Thanks @Myfriendis410 That is the same chart I go by that @MeEasy has there. The couple I have that showed male were maybes. If you get a seed that shows a nice clean circle. It has always been a female for me. The SLH I am doing now was done by the chart. And I have another I am still waiting to see the sex on. If you are in a hurry. I would get the test kit. Other wise. I would give the chart a try. For a good reference. Pull out one of your known female seeds to see how it looks. It is normally not to hard to tell if you bought the seeds. On those that people like us have bred. Not me my self. Are harder to tell on a lot as they don’t show as clear. I hope that wasn’t to confusing.

When you say hybridized do you mean feminized or something else? If something else - what exactly?

Both: any autoflower by definition is a hybrid, for example. But yes; much more vigorous plant than feminized in general.

I watched a video about this you need a microscope to check the end of the seed and not the pointy end of the seed when u check the end of the seed if it is a female the end of the seed there will be a circle and if it is a male it will be a oval shape this way is supposed be very accurate according to the videohttps://youtu.be/1PwwKxUL0AA watch this video
