Autopot equivalents

I want to use different pots for my autopot xl system. The geopots are great and all I just wonder if a mesh pot might work better. The issue is having the dang pot fit into the tray without too much gap or not enough room at all. Any of you guys got any input here? Save me some trial and error maybe?

Being to small I do not see a issue with a lil smaller hell the Trays to grow have lots of space around the pots, I believe they will drink faster than any chance of issue IMHO.

If you have the pot socks just fold edges in so no light hits feed water in the base around the mesh pot.

I agree with @Bentstick as to using smaller pots that leave gaps. I used a portable autopot valve that they sell where the nutes surround the pot in a rectangular planter.

I had a little bit of film on top. I used this setup for my solo cup grow, so I added the coco mat for the cup to wick off. The tupperware is to reduce the amount of water in the tray. I needed a smalller tray with higher sides. I finally disconnected the autopot valve as shown because the slightest bump spilled water over the sides I needed a 2 inch tray.

It turned out pretty good.

Naw Ive got the autopot system already I just dont care for fabric pots over mesh ones. And autopots tray isnt the same size as a standard pot size. Love that though. If you got the skills and the tools, always Do It Yourself!

No issue with algae as of yet through a grow.
