I would think around 300 to 400 ppm with them starting. I’m a Promix grower, it’s soilless too but feeds a bit different than coco, which needs to stay damp, not dry back. You will feed at a bit lower ec because you’ll feed more often. Dell will chime in when he gets on here. Thanks for your service, you and Dell will get along!
I use a wicking system so I only water once every 2 weeks. Not sure the only other thing I’ve ever done is deep water(Rockwood, hydroton, doser) and top feeding straight covo
I don’t use them but coco works well with wicking feeders as far as I know. Not sure how they work with nutes. Do you use a res or pour water into each base?
I have a 2 gallon reservoir that I feel about every 2 weeks when not in the peak of flower then it requires about once a week. Only being one plant limits the requirements because I only have an 18x18x18 x2’4 to work with
Understand, I didn’t ask how many you were growing. One is much easier to manage. As long as your res ph and temp is in line, you should be good to grow.
I’d say that’s on point for one that size. You can slightly increase ppm as it grows, probably topping out at 800-1000 ppm depending on how she takes it. Less is more with autos, work up carefully, any damage to an auto is just time and yield lost, there’s no veg time to make up for anything that’s happened before they flower.
Nice choice with the Coco Loco. How long has the plant been growing in the coco loco? I’ve had this medium testing around 2500 PPMs straight from the bag and will usually feed the plant for approximately 6 weeks with water only. I would test the run off then and start feeding when that’s around 800 PPMs. I feed approximately 850 PPMs. When I’m growing autos in this medium and the average flower time is around 6 weeks, I’m feeding during the stretch or around week 2 of flower. I keep the PH around 6.3-6.8 with it being a blend versus being coco or soil. Appreciate the tag Doc
I planted it in the cocoloco so I put the tap root down 3 days before Christmas. I don’t have any runoff. It’s a wicking system. No top watering at all. But 6.3/ 320ppm, 74degf, 64% humidity
What style of bottom feeding system do you have? I use auto pots that have trays for the nutrient solution and fabric pots to sit in and the nutrient solution is controlled by a float fed from a reservoir. They have pot socks around the bottom of the bags and I layer an inch of hydroton in the bottom of the bag before the medium. They sit approximately an 1”-1.5” in the nutrient mix on a constant basis
Yeah nothing that cool. I have shoestrings that go into the nutrient solution that hit the bottom of the pot. But it seems to work and it seems to work pretty well. I’ve grown some pretty looking bud in that thing! I just want to set my self up for success as much as possible. I need to harvest more often to keep up with the demands of this crippled old guy. God forbid I get a good night’s sleep .
It’s the stock setup from vivosun for the vgrow chamber.
