I started 3 auto flowers in coco coir for the first time, they are approximately 6 days old. I’m planning to use GH, but not entirely sure the feeding schedule and when to start. I’ve been on this forum fir a while and notice hornhead seems to know how to grow these little girls well. That said, @HornHead, I’d like to know your feeding schedule and light schedule. I had a few grows with Coast of Maine soil and had many mixed results. Hoping this will finally be where I get my feet firmly planted and comfortable doing indoor, outdoor is a different story. Anyone else’s input on this subject matter is greatly welcomed too.

I also grow in coco. I am now using fox farms but have used gh before. Just follow the recommendations on the bottles. May want to start at 1/4 strength and see how it responds. I normally wait to about week 2 before I start feeding.

I start with the gh flora trio at 1/4 strength when they have about 3 sets of leaves and adjust from there. I run cfls a couple inches high at 24/0 for the first couple weeks. Then drop to 18/6 or 16/8 until I see that it is transitioning into flower then drop to 12/12. I also feed every time. But, not full strength. And when I feed, I run a gallon or 2 of plain ph water through first, check my ph and tds then mix up my nutrient solution

Thanks for the info. I’m running an optic 6 led with both bloom and veg setting on 24/7 right now. Any advice?

Yeah, get yourself some 23 true watt CFL and save some money on electricity. That’s all you really need for the first few weeks. Keep a small fan on them too. Look for CFL in 5600k or higher if you can

What lights do you use for flower?
I veg after the cfls with a couple roleadro cobs and flower with a 315w cmh 3100k
Thanks for the info. I’ll use my cobs for vegging. Hope these autos do well. I haven’t had good luck indoors with autos except one. If I follow your direction and diligence with checking runoff this should be my best chance. I have 2 purple haze and one orange diesel. I’d be happy with a pound between all but would love twice that. Lol

Coco is a great medium and autos respond well to moderate feeding. If you don’t have one; pick up a decent digital PH meter and TDS meter as you will need both for soilless.
General Hydroponics has a number of published grow schedules. You want the ‘Drain to Waste’ schedule and you can either use the base nutrients (with cal mag!) or the entire line. As @HornHead pointed out; start at 1/4 strength and move up while watching for issues. You should be feeding in the 600 to 700 ppm range once the plant is fully going.
Generally recommended to do a feed/water/feed/water cycle with periodic flushes to release stored salts. A product like Florakleen can help a lot with that.
I use the entire GH Flora line and it does a fantastic job. It’s one of the better nutrient lines and is one of the least expensive too.

On my autos? Yes. I don’t start with the bloom nutrients until the stretch is over

@HornHead I’m wondering what you would use for a watering schedule and how much at this stage and in this medium with 10 gallon pots?

I start mine in solo cups and when they out grow it I transplant into 7 gallon pots. Watering I would water a circle around the plant to make the roots search for the water
I’ve heard mixed things about using coco. To be specific, I’m using coco loco. Some say it holds lots of water and you can water less and others say you can’t overwater because of easy drainage. I’ve been watering each with a small pray bottle around the outside leaves until last night when I upped it to 1/3 gallon around the leaves making the roots search for water. I also added about 200 ppm GH because my girls are almost 2 weeks old and looked hungry.

You mentioned watering till runoff and then mixing nutes and adding. @HornHead would you think the girls are big enough to start that now? They are in 10 gallon pots.

Either way, I tried it out for myself and realized my ppm runoff was way too high. Probably why I have a cooked runt (live and learn). Everything is back on track now after some major flushing.
