Auto flower problems

I did my first purchase of auto flower… I started them 15 days ago in coco. They are only 2 in tall and just got there 2nd set of leaves which makes them look like a 4 leaf clover. Holding temp at 70ish. Humidity between 60 snd 70%. Misting soil around plant couple times a day with water only. I have supported stem with pipe cleaners as they looked so frail. I have a kind 1000 watt light. Specs say keep it 4ft away in seedlings stage. They shot up the two in so I lowered the light to 2 foot 6 in and they stopped now. Should I be concerned, should I do any different? Again this is my first time and specifically first time with Autoflower so needing some assistance. They are in 5 gallon buckets.

Thank you

Since your are growing in coco you need to feed them or they won’t grow. Coco has no nutrients to support growth.

It is also important to feed with every watering and water frequently, at least once a day. It is important that the feeding contains cal-mag to allow for proper nutrient uptake. Coco won’t hold moisture like soil, nor will it damage roots when it stays wet, in fact, it’s important to keep the coco wet for proper root zone health, and daily run off is important to keep buildup of nutrients (salts) in the coco flushed out.

Thank you. As a new new newbee, what do you recommend the feed be for autoflowers?

Also do you think they can recover at this point if i start feeding? I have been misting every day but is that enough for these babies?

They should recover if you start feeding them.

There are many different lines of nutrients and so long as you get something compatible with cannabis you should be fine. Many on this forum have gone with Jacks because it’s only three parts feed from seedling to harvest and is very inexpensive. I haven’t tried it so no personal experience but have tried three or four other brands. You can get good results with any of them if you pay attention to your plants. There might be differences, but as far as I know, nobody has done a controlled study to compare.

The fastest solution would be to go to your local hydroponics store, tell them your growing in coco and ask what they recommend. They will most likely talk about base nutrients, which are the basic nutrients to keep your plants healthy, and supplemental nutrients that can address specific concerns and hopefully increase harvest.

Great info. Thank you. Off to the hydro store tomorrow. Hoping to get them going again. I’ll be back!!!:seedling:
