Anybody that switched from 5gal to 7 gallon fab pot

I’m seriously thinking of switching to 7 gallon fabric pot vs. the 5 gallon.
I’m always having issues (lack of nutrient uptake I think)starting 3 weeks into flowering and believe it could be resolved with a bigger pot. FYI Doing the living soil thing. After harvesting I noticed the roots are all all over the inside Of the pot.
Has anyone noticed good changes after switching to 7 gal.

Switching to a larger pot will allow more soil per cubic ft thus allowing more nutrients. You wont notice much change from a 5 to a 7. Now, a 5 to a 10 yes, or even better a 20. 5 gal about 30day, 7 gal about 45, 10 gal 60 to 75 days, ect… im going from 5 gal to 40 gal

Heres my roots out of a 5 gal after harvest.

I have used both depending on whether I am putting 4 or 5 plants in the tent. With soil…more is better. Can support a bigger plant and plump up those buds

Bigger pot should extend feeding a little, but I still feel like these need a lot more than most of the manufacturers let on.

I’ve switched from 5 and 7 to all 10 gallon. I have noticed a big jump in quantity with NO decrease in quality. The only other change that happened simultaneously was i purchased a PAR meter. I really got my lights dialed in with the meter. I will not go smaller than 10 for photos indoors ever again.

I run 10 gal pots indoors. The roots are going to fill the pot regardless of the size pot used. I find that using bigger pots serves as somewhat of a buffer. It seem a bit easier to keep pH, nutrient levels, and watering frequency in check with bigger pots.

In my humble opinion :relieved:
Switching to coco-coir with synthetics would help with recurring nutrient deficiency plus more benefits.

Just look at all the posts that deal with deficiencies regularly, over and over its “living soil” or “organic grows”, no matter the pot size.
We rarely see a deficiency with coco-coir, and if it does happen, its easy to fix quickly.
Just something to think about

I agree 100%! I started indoors growing organic. Wasn’t getting the results I was looking for so I took advice received on this forum and switched to Bar Harbor potting mix and Jacks 321. Haven’t looked back since!!!

Do u have a root pic with a 7 or 10 gal pot after harvest?

No, but ive got 25 gallon pots ordered. The biggest ive used is a 10, those roots were a little bit more massive than what i have now. The most roots ive ever had was with a plant i vegged for nearly 4 months before i flipped.

Living soil performs better as pot size increases. The 7 will outperform the 5 all day long. Many of us living soil growers have upped size a bit to 7 and 10 average. My 20gal grows are the best with living soil for sure. I never have any issues except mag with the reused soil. Proper ammending and growing the soil life along with the plant is how it works. Just nutes or letting the soil die is not a “living” soil.

Bigger pots, bigger plants.
I started out in 5 gallon buckets and 10 gallon fabs. Now i run 30 and 45 gallon fabs. Next year they will all be 45 gallon fabs or im going in ground raised bed.:v:

I’m gonna need a bigger tent :face_with_tears_of_joy:
Currently in a 4x4

I went from a 7gal plastic pot to a 10gal rain science grow bag on my last grow and saw a huge difference. Going for a 15 this time probably the upper limit of what I can grow indoors but looking forward to see!
