Another newbie needing guidance

Ok will check it this afternoon

So I did a ph check with the water that came out of the bottom of plant container when I watered them and the ph on the small one was 5.9 and I checked one of the bigger one and it was lower like a 5.6 is this bad I took theses pics today it’s been roughly a month I’ve been putting cal mag in the water when watering and have been giving pridelands veg nutrients 1-2 a week now I just started that was a little late getting nutrients I’ve got the pridelands bloom/flower nutrients but not sure when to start bloom nutrients my slurry test for small plant was a 7.1

I did a ph test of water that came out bottom of plant container for small one ph was 5.9 I checked another plant and it was 5.6 then I did a slurry test of the small plant and it was like 7.1 is this OK?

What’s the ph of the water going in?

If you’re feeding veg nutes or cal mag you need to make sure you are adjusting your ph of your nutrient solution somewhere between 6.2-6.8 before watering.

Well it was distilled water with 1 tablespoon of cal mag added to it I didn’t think I had to check ph

Ok what do I need to get to adjust ph will the solutions in the ph meter box work sorry if that is a dumb question I’ve just never done this before a lot more to growing than I thought

If you are using distilled water only you do not need to check ph, if you add a nutrient or cal mag or anything to that water you need to check and adjust PH.

This is what I would do to correct the problem if it was mine, down to earth dolomite lime 3 tablespoon to the top of your 5 gallons of soil and work it in, water it in. Next watering check runoff ph and add 1 or 2 more tablespoons if needed, bring the ph up slowly.

Any PH up and PH down will work a lot of companies make them. General hydroponics is probably the most popular.

Feel free to tag me with any questions you may have, I will walk you through anything you need.

I do appreciate the help I ordered a ph u ph down kit it’s not general hydroponics brand because it was gonna take 5 days to get to me it was atlas brand i figured it should be ok I hope that and dolomite lime will be here tomorrow when can I tell when it is time to switch to flowering nutrients tomorrow will be 28 days from when I put them in these big pots I had them in jiffy pods a week before that

Couple things to check, I would make sure your ph meter is calibrated with the calibration solution.

I would hold off for a little while before flower nutrients, soil should have everything the plant needs for a few weeks. The more common way people know around here is you can always test runoff ppm and feed when it gets below 1,000ppm.

I would hold off on the cal/mag and prodeland nutrient.

You need to get your soil ph corrected before anything.

Soil ph will change minerals the plant can absorb through its roots, if ph is off it will show deficiencies like plant doesn’t have any but in reality it cant get it from the soil.
This leads to people adding more and feeding heavier causing toxicity.
Anytime you ever see a deficiency your first thought should ways be “why is it not getting it”, check runoff ph and ppm.

Yes u are definitely right because now one of the ones that has been doing great some of the leaves at the bottom are yellowing my ph up/down will be here today as well as lime

Calcium gets locked out first I believe, at I believe a ph of 6.3. Little lime will help bring that up. If you have anymore questions just tag me @Autos-only

Well I’ve added a little lime to the plants the seem to be doing better I’m planning on doing another slurry test to check them out again to make sure @Autos-only

I did another slurry test on the front left plant it was 7.1 do I need to put any more lime on it some of the leaves are yellowing I haven’t been giving any nutrients or cal-mag only distilled water I live in city I don’t think the tap water would be good for it

No you don’t need to add more, I would check runoff ph and see where you stand.

These are my latest pics I put a dehumidifier in there because my humidity was getting over 60 close to 70 my temps average 70-74 it gets cooler as light go off I was wondering what causes the stems to turn purple? I also picked some of the dying leaves off still giving distilled water I tried to run the flex hose from a vent in my house ac to try to cool the tent down but it’s not cooling as much as I thought it would

It’s caused by the light if it’s on the fan leaf only.

That’s kind of what I was thinking I was thinking of raising it a little bit but I don’t want it to be too high up for the other plants

These are the latest I moved my light up a bit and I turned it down just a little because I am still getting the fan leaves drying or burning up but I think everything else is ok I guess gonna get a run off test tomorrow when I water

What is highest temp for tent it seems like dehumidifier is causing some heat@Autos-only
