very annoyed just realized that my supposedly so sturdy gorilla grow shorty 4x4 liner isn’t as water proof as they claim and has been warping my wood floor …. never had this issue with no of my spiderfarmer tents, all the rave reviews i saw about the quality of those tents and that one specifically for the space i had access to is even more frustrating
@aussie123556 how about you check my account ??? i have documented grows , before you come in here judging. secondly, i said the water proof LINER, you know the thing that goes into the bottom of the tent?? that the plants go on top of ? it is mylar on the top surface for light reflection, and the same cloth material as the exterior of the tent on the reverse side and straps to the bottom of the tent frame’s corners … the purpose of that is to line the tent … it’s supposed to be water proof … make clean up easier and not leak out of the tent , take time to read the message properly please . I said it clearly is not doing it’s job because the outside of the tent , WHICH IS INSIDE NOT OUTSIDE BEING USED , is soaking wet , the floor wood is starting to swell and warp , i noticed it because i was walking and my shoes got bucked as if i was walking over a raised sidewalk , i’m not an amateur to this, and i know the difference between the rest of the floors in my house and what’s happening directly under and around where my tent is.
@aussie123556 same thing as would happen if you had a dishwasher or refrigerator leak in an area with wood floors, you have what is referred to as cupping happen after a while , hence what i am noticing with my living room floor , this never happened with my previous tents , the point being made here , i don’t know what the assumptions and sarcasm was for .
@Bando_Budz93 , I understood your post perfectly.
Sometimes I can read a post and understand it completely wrong.
I worry about my tent doing that too. I use saucers under the pots and try very hard to not drip water on the liner. Now you got me worried about my wood floor.
Thank Jeebus for tile. Sorry to read of the problem. You can probably find a 3x3 drip pan for water heaters or ac units pretty cheap. Set it inside the tent under the plant. Or a 4x4 to set the whole tent on. Dang, that’s a bummer, maybe you can work something out with Gorilla??
That is a bummer. I put a trap under mine because I was worried about that. I also have a 3.5 x 3.5 water table in the bottom of the 4 x 4 tent because I water to heavy runoff
thank you for actually replying something that makes sense and not making me fee
crazy i have no idea what that dude came on here yammering on about , and yeah man it sucks, but most people said the dehumidifier helped the floor un-cup itself after a while for the most part , so crossing my fingers, can’t do much now i’m like a week or two away from harvest
appreciate the feedback man ,
i’m gonna look into that as a solution for me moving forward
i hope so bro , i shot them an email first thing this morning
I’d be pxxxed. I use a closet, but kept the bottom liner from my old cheapie 3x3. It hasn’t failed me yet, unless a corner gets folded. I did have a drip system siphon and flood it once. Just don’t tell them what it’s for, some companies may be sticklers. Say it had succulents and herbs or something.
hey @Bando_Budz93 any chance it is not a leak but condensation forming under it…just a thought
You want weight on it while it dries out. Putting weight forces it flat as the water swelling shrinks and leaves voids. Otherwise it will stay bumpy and raised.
Our dishwasher broke and flooded the maple hardwood in our kitchen. I did not think it would be fixable. Putting weights ontop of plywood as it dried pushed it surprisingly almost good as new. We stacked old books, bricks and buckets loaded w water. I took about a week.
I understood your first post too. No worries.
I have heard tool, wanker, and anything after wicked, but not winger before. Is that used just in Australia? I am being genuine, I find regional vernacular slang very interesting. Might have done research on it in another life…
Can you use it in a few more examples?
I have usually heard it from british tv
spelling helps
checked it bro unfortunately it’s a decent pool of water under the liner
I got a couple 36”x36” washing machine pans from Walmart.
Had a couple spills that were contained.
Been using these for years and they’re cheap @ WM.) 5 gal. containers fit perfect. I always double them up.
Its unfortunate grow bro. I would not trust any tent liner to be waterproof 100%. Gotta live by Murphys law.
This is true. Ole Murphy seems to be right 100% of the time…but there are products out there that won’t leak.
