looking at some tents. I want a 2x2 for seedlings and maybe a 3x3.
Saw this on ebay for a 2x2. man that stitching is something else.

I actually put a bid in on a 4x4 gorilla shorty but i I didnt win.
So your gorilla has no light leaks?
No or should I say that I am aware of. I have a 7’ that can be extended another 12" . Unfortunately I don’t the room height to do that. Tent material is heavy duty as are the zippers with Velcro flaps.

I have a amazon special 32x32x60. Perfect for seedlings. Seems pretty good. No light leaks I’ve noticed so far. Not that I’m too worried about that in veg.
I just upgraded to a 4x8 mars hydro. It has the 1680d material gorilla grow tents use. It does have a few light leaks but at 259.00 I’m okay with tightening up the tent a bit. Plus the room my tent is dark all the time so no big deal for me. It wouldn’t take much to tighten it up a little. The flaps that cover the zippers is the only thing needing attention. Nothing a little velcro wouldn’t fix.

This top one is the one I have, no light leaks in. over months I started to notice light coming out, still none in. Its the only one I’ve ever had so I cant compare to others, but I wanted the one below. Just couldnt decide.

Here is some things to consider before deciding on a tent.
First rule is get the tallest tent and the largest tent you can until at least a 3x4x7or 4x5x7
A 2x2 is good for one plant or seedlings but one thing people seem to forget is the sides all suck in and it leaves your plants with less space so a 2x2 is really not ideal.
The 3x3 vs a 3x4 ,or others that are not a square, differ in as they have a shelf inside them you can start seedlings and other things on like a small herb garden or cat grass for your cat or lettus etc. It can be handy because you take down the stupid divider and run your duct fan in that side as well as a humidfior or other things it’s really ideal.
It’s more about what your space will accept.
I run a 2x4x7and a 3x3x6 I don’t like the 3x3 because it’s a bit shorter but I love that it is bigger and i can run w plants in it when fully grown comfortably even if they are monsters.
The 2x4 squishes them to much but I got it to run in a closet so I’m holing onto it.
Gorilla tents are nice but waaaaay over priced I would save your money and not buy a Lamborghini shell then run a Honda civic motor inside it.

I’ve got several ipower tents. Lots of light leaks and the zippers SUCK!
I have one Matrix tent. Same number of light leaks, but the zippers are smooth as silk.
Unless you’re spending big money on a tent, don’t expect perfection.
Always go bigger than you “think” you’ll need. 5’ tall tents run out of clearance quickly.

this is all great input.
They all have light leaks or most at least, but you should buy the aluminum tape for duct work from your duct fan etc. Cut little squares and patch the inside of your tent. I have been using gorilla take for a couple pin holes on my outside but sticking to the fabric is not ideal.

I dont think any tape sticks to the outside of these tents. I have tried gaff, gorilla, packing, painters

Why not just build your own? Panda film is pretty cheap, and you can build the frame with either pvc or drywall.
I am building one now, and it’s really not hard.
Plus, you can design it to be the exact size you want.

I’m good on that. I just want something that I can set up and go with. Opulent systems is sending me another 4x8 as soon as they are back in stock. The one i have has some light leaks and I made a video for them and a few other things. So we will see. In the mean time I just want something for seedlings and maybe a 4x4 or 3x3. Are you documenting your build? Ill check it out. Hope it turns out awesome.

Even if you make your own with mylar or panda film how do you make a door? And thst film. Is no where near as durable as the fabric on a grow tent.

Just build a door too @Nicky!
A door is just 4 pieces of wood, or pvc that has 1 or 2 hinges. Keep in mind you can make it out of whatever you want, and drywall is much stronger than fabric.

try the gorilla waterproof made for boats… patch work… Its crazy thick n sticky.

I bought a 96x48x80 from G.A.Gardens and it is superior to my Vivosun,no light leaks so far and better quality material.
