About to start grow #2, instructions on how not to burn them up this time, please

Hey Forum Friends. So I’ve harvested and am currently in day 5 of trimming into jars. Git about a day left, maybe 2… then it’s time to clean and sanitize everything for grow #2. 6 plants only yielded just over 10 ounces, which is completely stupid. I find it really hard to believe that burning them up with the light while in the first week as seedlings caused such a low yield, but it is what it is I suppose.

My question is this… Since I did it wrong the first time, I never found out how I’m supposed to do the light at the starting point. Can somebody tell me please? From the day I put them into a cup of water, where and how away strong should my light be? And when do I move it to the 25-30" above at 50%? I have the ViVoSun 4000 Full Spectrum LED square light. I also have 2 Red Halogen Grow lights that I can use, as well as this little light with 2-9" bars that can be all Red, all Blue, or half and half. It isn’t very big but idk the wattage or anything. Thanks everyone.

:point_up_2: the seeds should be placed in a warm dark spot for 24-36 hours to crack and sprout the tap root. Place the seed in damp medium in a solo cup about 1/4” deep. Light is not needed to sprout but good to have on in case they sprout in your absence. For seedlings I run the PPFD at 200-250 for the first 14 days then Transplant to their forever home. Do you have a light meter or the phone app PHOTONE? Each growth stage requires different levels of intensity with a gradual increase during each stage :love_you_gesture:

Hi OGIncognito. I do have a light meter. Or rather one of those 3 in 1 meters. I don’t know what PPFD is?

You need to get the photone app, and set it to the type of light you have. Then measure the ppfd and dli, and set your light as close as possible based on these charts.

Hello @ShureGreen you can check the light map for your fixture from the manufacturer to get recommended height for intensity. That type of light is a quantum board. This type of light produces a very intense center concentration of energy.
Move your light to 24” above plant canopy and set intensity to 30-40% during seedling g stage. After plants get a good root system and have 3-4 tiers of leaves increase light intensity to 50-60% and height of light to canopy to 18”. Try and keep humidity levels to 60% during seedling stage.
If you can monitor your temperature and humidity try using the VPD of the environment for best conditions during each stage of growth.
