Hey guys,
About 4 weeks into flower i have noticd some seeds inside little green calyxes and when i open them up their is a seed inside…some i open and are just mush. Whatever this is it is affecting all 3 plants now. There are not many but there might be 20 calyxes with seeds or mush inside. The flowers are dank and covered in trichomes. These are feminised plants that reacting to too high humidity and/or heat stress.
The buds and stems of the plants look fine except for the odd green calyx with a seed inside. What do you advise i do going forward?
Do i continue to remove them by hand or even just leave them? Do i cut my losses and harvest 1 month early?
As i said the plants look great other than the small amount of calyxes with seed in them.
They are in dark period but i will post photos in a few hours…cheers lads.
3 plants. Feminised seeds. strains,gg4,gsc and pink kush. Plants were stunted and stressed hard in early veg under faulty light. Plants have definitely suffered enough stress to herm …however, they do not look like typical herms. I read that stressed female plants can create seeds late in flower and that those seeds are infact female? Unsure if this could be the case.
New light is 450 real watts , humidity has been a little high but mostly 50 - 60 rh, temperature has been between 22-30 degrees celcius. These plants have def had their fare share of stress as this is only my second grow and they had a faulty ligh and were stunted during veg. They took off very fast under the new light. These plants are in week 11 total and starting week 5 of flower. Pics to come during daylight
I’m not experienced …this is only my second grow. Will the seeds keep multiplying and overtake the flower production? Would there be no medicinal benefits chopping a month early? I feel like seed growth is about to ramp up so i need to make a decision asap.
If i let them continue do i pull seeds as they emerge or leave them?
You need to locate the male parts and remove them. When mine hermed the pollen came from lower male sacs that are located where the side stem connects to the main stem.
I have seperated the 3 plants and will go over them with more detail and take photos of what i observe and/or remove…tyty. Are seeds produced in this scenario no good?
I can handle how they are now easily…but i dont know what the growth will continue to be? Will it start to produce a tonne of seeds or stay at roughly the same ratio of flower to seed ot is now?
I had a gsc extreme feminized photo self pollinate this run. My Vpd is Always spot on. No stress at all. I noticed the buds on that plant were looking odd at around week 4-5. Seeded just like yours. I was stumped. No male parts anywhere. I found one single nanner on that plant after looking for hrs for the source. I was really bummed but I pulled that one so the others didn’t get pregnant. I’m at day 64 and the others are fine. I was wonder if those seeds would be feminized?
I read that too after it happened. Can stop what is already programmed in the genetic and it’s just luck if it doesn’t happen assuming it’s not stress induced from what I have read
Stabilizing genetics and breeding is one area that my level of knowledge is pretty limited. Just now starting to research breeding cannabis. I could see were that could be fun but it doesn’t sound easy at all.
