Pretty happy with this grow , what would be pros vs cons of switching to photo?
Pros: more tolerant of messing up, ability to trim them and bend them like crazy, you control the size and when you want them to flower.
Cons: I haven’t found any yet.
I find the way easier than autos because I know I’m going to goof something early on and don’t want the yield doomed.
Maybe I just have good luck then ? I really abused this plant lol , topped , severe lst and defoliation. Still got a pretty nice yield but I was expecting thicker buds like my 1st grow.
I guess lst spreads out energy to more bud sites so smaller buds ? Although the quality of this bud compared to my 1st grow is 100x better, super dense to the point where branches were bending over about to snap
One of the biggest pros is they don’t flip themselves before you want them too. Time and time again growers are posting about teeny autos that popped early.
True , how long do photos stay in veg for ? Does it really increase harvest time that much
If you keep your lights at 18 hrs per day or higher they’ll stay in veg. You control when they flower by reducing the light timer to 12/12. So you control how long/big they get. Autos are their own boss. They do what they want when they want with little consistency.
Autos are the Karen’s of the weed world!!!
Lmao I guess Karen’s love me then
Yup.
Just finished harvesting the Autos grown from same day as the photos.
Now I am flipping the Photos down to 14/10 aiming for 11/13.
But this is winter and I need lights ON for heat to get anything to grow.
So the autos grew and harvested (early, so I could learn timing).
Oct 7 thru Jan 17 were the dates. ILGM Afghan Auto vs ILGM Hindu Kush Photo.
The second tent now has my 12-1-2024 and 1-1-2025 seedlings (down low),
I did my best to give all the same.
Actually today, I swapped lights to balance what I cant control.
My china lights make heat and we will be cold tonight.
Stay warm.
Timing becomes a real control.
Weddings, work out of town times, seasonal challenges, all may influence what should be grown.
