Ww f 1 month help

All the leaf tips on my plants have interveinal chlorosis. I’ve been using Cal mag as a buffer with Aro water to a ppm of 100 to 150 and a 2 to 1 mix of froggy soil to ocean forest with fox farm trio nutrient line. Watering in at a pH of 6.5 but last watering runoff was at 5.5 figured I need to water in at 7.0 to raise runoff so I did that and they have Ben getting better I thought I fixed it but the new leaf that came in bended too just didn’t begin to discolor the leaves feel dry and papery but the Ty and temp are controlled and fine (inkbird) If you need any information, let me know and I’ll provide it.

Increase to 300-350ppm when using calmag and ro water.
This will help adjust your medium ph vs the medium adjusting your liquids ph.

What is your runoff ppm? Could be feeding too soon.

With FF, IME, you will want to always input at 6.8ph. Water, nutes, doesnt matter. You will also be needing to flush your soil according to FF flush schedule.

So I should raise my ppm to about 300 with every watering ? Since using ro? I sometimes add like 2 ml per gal of silica only once a week depending on watering and I honestly don’t remember what my runnoff ppm was just my runoff ph but what range should I be looking for with runoff ppm … I thought it could be a low ph at root zone bc ph runoff was coming out at 5.5 so I watered in at higher ph (7.0) and runoff came out at 6.0 seemed to helped with the problem a little bit this is my first grow it could be because I did a feed whil it was in its solo cup and then transplanted into smart pots next day with fresh soil so propably to much nutrients I’m assuming just needs to be watered and wait

Looks like normal ocean forest operations to me. That’s why I dropped it and only use happy frog. You’re going to be battling low ph all grow.

It’s 2 to one happy frog to ocean forest

I’m saying if there was no ocean forest in there you wouldn’t have made this post

Anytime you are not using nutrient solution. With FF feeding you would go water, feed, water, feed. So on water only days you would add calmag.

RO or Distilled both will require calmag to make ph stable.

Good. With silica you will want to add into water first, then wait 10-20mins to allow silica to bond with the water. After that you can add calmag to solution. Then ph to 6.8 and dispense to plant.

With runoff ph you want it between 6.3 and 6.8 with 6.5 being dead on for soil. Its different in coco/hydro. (5.8-6.3) as for tds(ppm) you will want over 1000 but under 1500 for an avg. I use the runoff tds as a measure of when to feed. Once the tds drops below 1000ppm its time to feed.

Correct! Fresh FF soil usually has about 2000+ppm for nutes in it. In theory you could up pot new soil and never use feed at all with FF soils. IN THEORY.

This is an accurate assumption!

This isnt right, but it also isnt wrong. FF just doesnt have the very best soils. They arent bad and have been used for years but there are better options. I went a few grows with FF, ill tag you in them so you can have a look if you like.

There may be better soils but none are as affordable as happy frog that’s why I use it. I pay $15 a bag. Ocean forest cost more than that I believe. Stopped using ocean forest completely when I noticed leathery plants and low ph in flower. I typically browse at the hydro shop but have yet to pull the trigger on the more expensive soils. Eventually I’ll break down and buy but I don’t see myself buying bags and bags of expensive dirt

I’ve used FFOF quite a few x’s and haven’t once had intervienal leaf issues like this. How do you figure that correlation?

So have I. They were some of my most struggle filled grows ever. Big leathery leaves and low ph is what I remember.

I was linking FF with lowered rootzone ph. I am assumimg the necrosis is related.
