Brand new to this need some help

Someone gave me a plant in the veg state with about 4-6 shoots from main stem I transplanted from a red solo cup to a 3 gal fabric pot I used fox farms ocean floor and I checked the ppm and ph the ph was about 7 and the ppm was low (according to info I got online so i put in some nutrients grow bloom micro 3 part nutrient set but I did this because my plants were drooping a bit and a few leaves are growing in kinda wrinkled If that makes sense I’ll post pics but if anyone can help me out I’d appreciate that if you need more info ask I’ll try and tell you everything I know ( newbie so not gonna be super in detail)

Welcome to the forum.

pH should be maintained in the range 6.3 to 6.8.

PPM should be maintained at ~1,000.

This medium will feed for approximately 6 weeks with water at a PH of 6.5.

How did you check this? Run off or slurry test? :love_you_gesture:

Heythanks for answering :+1:t3:I did a slurry test I’ve been using distilled water and yeah I heard fox farms ocean floor has nutrients for like around 30-50 days depending on different variables but the ppm when I measured it was I wanna say around 535 and from what I read during veg it has to be closer to 800

WOW, I’ve never seen FF mediums that low right out of the bag. Typically we see 2000 plus. Do you mind if I ask the method you used? :love_you_gesture:

This is a slurry test straight from a bag of FF coco loco which is milder than Ocean Forest

Wow my bag is way off the mark lol I used the 4 in 1 digital vivosun ph tds ec and temp reader

Strange things…

Did you calibrate your meter when you received it ?

FF ocean forest is pretty hot soil no way you’d get that reading from a new bag. When I did a ph test of Ocean forest using run off with distilled water was right around 6.0

I cant remember what the ppm reading was for FFOF I have it written down somewhere. I know some seedlings dont like it cuz its too hot. I usually mix it with Happy frog when its seedlings in solo cups. I did a run off test of Happy frog at the same time so i should have that somewhere too.

Yeah I calibrated it in the solutions they gave me everything was at the right levels and then I took the measurements from the slurry I made

How long would a bag have to be sitting around for levels to read lower ?

It would have to have been washed somehow to read that low
