Wood under my grow bags

I have my racks under my bags setting on fiesta bowls but didn’t think I had enough room to catch and clean up water run off. So I raised them with wood. then I thought that that could lead to mildew in between the bags and wood so I went back to just bowls.
Am I being paranoid ?
I dont want to cause any avoidable problems for me an my Ladies.
Thank You for your time.

No personal experience with wood in my grow area, but I have seen people on forum say that wood would get mould and mildew if left wet for to long. I see by the pics that you would be able to easily remove if necessary. I use these lifters for pots they are perfect for raising plants up allowing drainage. I paid about $4.50 apiece for them.

Looks like plastic is bottom layer so no rot there, how often are you watering your plants?

Ya I have used wood in the past and got rid of it for just those same thoughts. I’d stay away to be safe. I set mine on the floor now but where I am the concrete doesn’t ever get cold… LoL I had them on styrofoam but it just isn’t necessary. That’s my set up, everyone has different circumstances. Good luck with the grow!!:mask::mask::mask::mask:

Don’t use wood. Try bricks, plastic, metal, or something like that.

I have some bricks, I was nervous about outside bugs. I will wash with hot soap and water then use them. I feel like I need more room under plants.
Thanks for the help.

Here’s what I did. Took a drive behind a local grocery store & “borrowed” some plastic bakery racks. U know, the ones that bread deliveries come on. They are the perfect size , and when turned upside down, they are about 4 inches high. Then I slide my catch tray right underneath. I’m no no way advocating theft, but if u “borrow “ them, it’s okay lol.

That’s great stuff… 4" is about perfect… hmmm - that sounds like my wife but I think she’s just trying to make me feel better about myself!!! Regardless I may have to go take a drive. Plus my face will be covered like a bandit with no questions asked if I’m in camera! :mask::mask::mask::mask::mask:

Ok my wife went last week and got a few buckets of bricks but they were dirty. So I took 9 and scrubbed them off with dawn the stuff I use to mop and a brush now they are soaking in dawn and floor cleaner disinfectant, mop stuff. Then I thought I would rinse soak them in hydrogen peroxide an water rinse… then paint them white just in case something survived Lol. Paranoid Pete here.

I bought a stalk of PEX (or pvc)Cut it up In pieces. To set my cloth pots on to keep them from sitting directly on the tent floor gives a little air flow underneath. When I check run off. I set plants out of tent on fold-out table on the homemade rack that I can slide a casserole dish under to catch the runoff. Also, gives me a good chance to spin it around take a good look at everything .
