Ok so i went to home depot today to look for something to raise my plants up off the floor in my tent to be able to put drain pans under them.(some kind of a wire platform with bricks in corners to raise up and in center.) Have seen a couple people on here that have done this, just wondering if someone can point me in the right direction where they got it from. Gonna check tractor supply and ace hardware or something tomorrow.

Hey bud, I purchased a large hot water drain pan from lowes and the wire rack was over in the storage section it is a shelving piece but an extra you can buy without the whole shelve. I would recommend looking at the wire shelving for closets as the have multiple sizes but you could get creative and even build a PVC frame and you could get buy with no wire shelving. Alot of people also get a washer overflow drain tray as well as it’s the perfect dimension for a 3x3 tent and lower profile than the hot water tray @imSICKkid uses one I believe. I’m going to build the pvc as I’m gonna build a scrog bet soon too so I’ll try and make a detailed build and tag you in it! The problem with that wire is it’s hard to lift up etc to remove excess water in the tray and they aren’t very rigid I have those 2 autos growing in 7 gallons and when they’re both freshly watered you have to really be careful as it blows easily and can slide off the lip of the round drip tray.
I went down that aisle and didnt see anything except for ones I had to cut and use 3 peices to fit bottom of my 4×4. All that was there was 20 year old kids that were less help then myself so maybe I’ll go back tomorrow if i strike out at other places. Thought about taking one of my extra shelving racks that we load up with the forktruck from work. Will have to ask my boss tomorrow it’s exactly 48×48 so might have to cut it down if it’s to tight. Just will be alot easier to slide pans out and empty these girls are starting to get heavy to move around and they only gonna get heavier. Was one of the perks of using hydro res change didnt have to mess with nothing really inside the grow
Yea thats pretty much what I am looking for just in a 48×48 but if i have to I will use that idea might even have one of those shelves in my garage actually
Yeah that one is 24x12. The full shelf had four of them. They’re not real economical as the full shelve was about $60 years ago and you’d need 2 of them. I just had them sitting around so I cut them up.
With @Myfriendis410 s help. I made these stands. I got an old twin bed frame that was made out of aluminum. I cut it down to the size I wanted, added a section for my run off trays and some wheels and they work perfect for me. I also made one that will hold 2 plants side by side to fit in a 3x3 tent. The black ones are just a section cut out of the bed with wheels added. I have 2 of those. 3 of the smaller ones and the 2 plant one. They work perfect for me. The black one fits perfect in my 4x4 tent as it is 42" wide I believe
You guys are all awesome alot of good ideas to look around and goto stores with now. Is one of my favorite parts of growing. Building/making stuff I would normally never have a reason to.
@Konflict it is a light @Myfriendis410 built for me. @dbrn32 found us a great deal on the light panels. It is a 260w light though. The silver one is the 269 and the black is a HLG 320. I run at 80w total for veg. So 40w per plant since 2 are always under one of these. I run at 24" off the plant. The higher off the plant the more stretch. Lower = denser. I like a little extra stretch to make it easier to water. I don’t turn my lights up till I headed for pre flower. Then I will go to 150w and then 175 after a few weeks. I don’t run mine all out till I have about 5 weeks left in the plant. I don’t flush so that is a full 5 weeks of flowering.
Would it be useful to have the support rack hang on ropes or chains and be raised and lowered closer to the light, as well as having the light go up and down? Raise it up to clean the floor.
Once your plant grows into this. You will not be able to move it up or down. How tall is your rack? I believe mine are 32" tall. I have mine set so the screen is 12" off the soil of the pot.
. I meant as a lift/spacer between the pots and a catch basin.
