Why does my blue dream auto smell gassy

The buds look great but she smells like a cross between gas and kerosene. What did I do?

How did you dry / cure ?

I dried in my tent and I placed all buds in 2 64 ounce ball jars. I am on day 3 of the cure

Are you burping ? I’m not really sure maybe @Aussie_autos can share some info on this.

I burp twice a day. My humidity in my jars are typically at 61% humidity.

Smell will probably mellow when cured a few weeks. I had one that was so gassy and pungent the smell made me nauseous but it’s AWESOME now.

What was the strain? I’ve grown 7 strains so far and have three new ones just starting. Some actually had no smell for several weeks in cure. Others had the hay smell at first and then finally got some scent. Others were just scented from the start. Best grows to you!

Some consider that gassy funk highly desirable

From what I can find, a cross between Bluebery and Haze….no mention of the diesel toe smell. I am at a loss. Did you spray with anything for bugs?

I’ve ran blue dream auto a few times with that smell. Just keep burping and it should mellow out

Thanks @Woodrow ! My sense of smell has always been off.

It’s the indica coming out.

I used a indoor grow tent. No bugs at all

Hi if u done a slow dry with ur humidity around 55-60% and plenty of air flow in ur tent thats great and for curing when u put ur buds in the jars dont over pack the jars leave about a inch or two of room at the top so ur buds have room to breathe you want to open ur jars at least twice a day for five to15 minutes at a time to allow the gases to exit the the jar u also want a humidity gauge in ur jars to keep a eye on ur humidity in the jars if ur humidity is to high in ur jars u will have to open ur jar and put ur weed on some paper or in a bowl and allow it to to sit for 10-15 minutes and then put back into the jar you want ur humidity to stay stable at 62 % once you have got it like that u will only have to burp ur jar once a day for a week after that u can leave it and smoke up

I was hoping someone got that :two_hearts:
Thanks @Learning

I picked right up on the fingers and toes. My jars are not packed full. I have my hydrometer in the jars and the humidity sits around 55-61. I typically open them in the morning while getting ready for work. Then in the evening I lay the buds out on my trimming screen to air out for about a hour.

Patience. This is why we cure.
