I am getting 30x18x36 mylar reflective grow tent, i am going to have a galaxyhydro 300w 140 true watt 15.24 inch led light that has 3 fans on it , and i am going to have a apollo 24w 14.8 true watt led grow light bulb , and 4 inch and 6 inch ducting fans, the thermostat is always set to 75f in my home, what temperature do you think the inside of my grow tent will get ? And what is the ideal temperature for indoor autoflowering plants to grow at ?
Honestly it depends on strain, different strains react to diffent climates, what strain is it?
Its called early miss autofloweing its a cross between original white widow and big bud, on the site i got it from it says good for growing all year round as long as the temperature is above 10c which means its good for colder temperature, i hope that doesn’t mean that its not good for warmer temperature because I’m thinking the temperature in my tent is going to be above 85f
That may be a little warm I would try 77 degrees and keep an eye on this simply because they will be in the tent so it will hold in the heat and you don’t wanna head stress them, so give 77 a try since it is a colder climate plant of 77 is to hot try 68-72 degress you should have a pretty good out come
how can i keep my tent temperatures at 68 - 72f if i keep the thermostat in my house at 75f, from what i read online is that grow tent and grow box temperatures are usually within 10f of the ambient temperature, that’s why i am thinking the temperature in my tent will probably be around 85f, i am going to have a 4 inch and 6 inch ducting fan’s, but i don’t think they will make the temperature in my tent lower then the ambient temperature in my house , what can i use to keep the temperatures in my tent under 75f the ambient temperature in my house ?
how much heat will a 300w led light and a 24w led light bulb make inside a 30x18x36 inch grow tent, how much hotter will the inside of my grow tent be then the ambient temperature in my house ? is there a calculator that i can use to estimate the temperature the inside of my grow tent will be using led lights ? do led lights produce heat ?
Yea they can produce heat and I’m not sayin . You can’t try 75 to 85 and you can do it by a slight most to the plants 2 to 3 times also it depend on how long your lights are ran in the tent
And I use a 1000w light for mine and they find at 85-90 degrees so since your using a 300W light your tempture will get to right around any where from 75-85 degrees 70 degrees May be a possible chance as well since your using 2 fans of that are oscillating fans than that’s a start to keeping cooler temperatures and positive stress on the stock and roots
i am planing on buying a small fan that i can clip on in the inside of my tent , will that help with temperatures ? also i will only put the extra 24w led light bulb in my tent if temperatures are reasonable
Well if you have a descent oscillating fan approximately 10" it should decrease room temperatures by 5 degrees and with 2 it would decrease any where from 6 to 10 degrees and you should have a pretty positive outcome, and should equal out to reasonable temps with the 24w led light
I am planning on leaving my lights running for 18 hours a day and shutting them off for 6 hours a day, when i shut my lights off should i also shut my fans off or should i leave the fans on 24/7 ?
Leave your fans on 24/7, light cycle sounds good
Can you close the heating grill into the room?
Tom
I will ask a buddy of mine and put another post up within the next 20 minutes, I apologize for the wait
As long as you have recirculating air with some source of fresh air to them then you shouldnt should have to as well is keep the air oscillating and it should keep an even tempurature
I’m getting a 6 inch 240 cfm duct fan i am going to use as a exhaust and I’m getting a 4 inch 100 cfm duct fan i am going to use as a intake and i am going to buy a small 6 inch clip on fan i am going to put on the inside of my tent to give my plants a breeze, and i am going to keep the lower rear panel of my tent where i run my wires half way open , does that sound good ? is there anything else i can do to keep my temps down any suggestions?
That sounds about perfect, once started get back to me let me know how it goes, and I’ll have more suggestions for ya
If you can I would suggest running the lights on during the night as
the outside temps will be lower and will help keep high temps down
during any Hot daytime temps. Also will help keep the low temps up
at night.
i just ran a my grow tent for 3 hours with all my lights and fans on and my temperature hit 87.9, but i think the thermometer i am using is 2 degrees higher then it really is because i have the thermostat in my house is set to 75 and the thermometer i am using reads 76.5. is 85.9 to 87.9 too hot to grow plants ?
That could depend on strain I have a certain set of strains that do good at 90 degrees and other strains that don’t do so well going past 80
