What do you do if you dry buds for too long?

I think I dried my weed a day or two too long. It was pretty dry on the outside, and when I put it in jars the humidity is only reading around 45%

I saw someone suggest putting fresh leaves in the jar overnight to raise humidity. Is this a good idea? Would this affect the taste of the buds, because I know that leaves start to smell unpleasant after a while.

Would it be better to put something like a damp cloth in the jar to raise humidity? Or the leaves?

Or is there a better method?

Thanks!

Leaf, orange peel, lettuce leaf. I looked up “rehumidify” and saw 8 topics. I didn’t even think it was a word. Good luck buddy.

My experience is you smoke that the very last and get anal about not letting it happen again. I rushed out and bought some Boveda packs that resulted in slightly moister tasteless weed that I smoked cause that is all I had. It was far better than nothing but I haven’t been tempted to use the moisture packs in anything else since. I feel your pain.

The leaves seem to be doing a great job at increasing humidity. The buds are still sticky and smell really good so I’m sure they’ll still taste good. My camera is crap, the buds look a lot better in person. Very sticky too

Throw a few fan leaves in there if you have them. Some save a few when trimming and store in fridge in case. I have a veg and a grow room, so there’s always fan leaves in one or both! Fruit peels will work in a pinch, but could have some unwanted smells. Sorry, didn’t read far enough, you got it covered!

I usually use fresh trimmings to rehydrate freshly over dried weed. If you have a tent set up you can rehydrate some in there. I just rehydrated some two year old weed in my tent. Humidity was set at 65 I just opened the bag and put it on a shelf. It was a little harsh and tasted like crap but it got me stoned. If you’re using jars throw a bovida pack in each jar

Rehydrate is the word we’re looking for lol

It’s funner to say the wrong word… like funner. We drive our teenager crazy with improper speech. Thank you. I knew it sounded odd in my head.

I saw you use “word” when I first got here. “I can relate to this guy” I thought.

A couple fan leafs per jar will work fine. After 2 to 3 days remove the leafs.

Sell it to a dispensary as their top shelf? Jk. Everyone has you here so all I have is jokes

I only had to keep the leaves in the jar for half a day, and the jars read 60% now even after removing the leaves. I guess i caught before it got too bad.

I’m not sure of the humidity level in your home, but here’s what I do. If my buds are too dry I stick the mason jar in the fridge with the lid on for an hour. Then I remove the jar, open the lid, and let it sit on the counter until it warms to room temp. It can take a couple of cycles to work depending on how dry my buds are.

I am careful not to overdo it. There should be no residual condensation on the inside of the jar after the buds are hydrated and the jar reaches room temperature.

It works great given my house’s humidity levels . Your mileage may vary. So take this suggestion with a grain of salt. And go easy if you have high humidity levels in your home. Good luck!
