Using my new Sf4000

Where should I set my light intensity on my 19 day old and 7 day autos?

I’ve had it set to sixty but I believe that’s been too high! Got a few spots. I’ve now put it to 30%

I don’t have a 4000 but I like to go higher % but from further away I set my 7000 48" at 50% for seedlings and by the time they’re where you are have it up to 70% ± depending on node spacing I like some space on the main stem then start adding more light once the branches get going because I like close node spacing on the branches

Thanks alot for the help there. What I’ve done is put all my GSCE and seedlings under my 350 watt ceramic metal halide. Someone else told me at the earlier stage in life they do better with the more blue hue and then with a little age give them the more red hue from my s4000

The first four pictures are my GSCE, I’ve attempted to fim two and I haven’t touched two. They’re 19 days old and the others are pics of my seven day old white widow autos. The last pic is a seed out of some mk og I bought from my dude. Any inputs or help would be greatly appreciated! Also I know they a re a little over watered I believe, and there is one or two GSCE that have brown spots. Is that from giving it nutes too soon, too much light, or too much water?

I’m still figuring mine out. Transition time, at least on autos, is where my problems begin. It may also be strain specific. One person here said they had trouble with gorilla glue and couldn’t get above 60% That’s what I’m growing lol. Others have said they run theirs 100%
beginning to end.

Anyway, this grow, my 3rd, I had a little trouble beginning transition. The new leaves kinda twisted up and stopped growing. Im in FFHF soil, so I watch ppm’s to know when to start the Jack’s 3,2,1. When that happened, it was also same time ppm’s dropped to under 200 (usually start feeding at 600ppm) Light intensity was at 70% so I dropped to 50%, fed and they recovered. I’ve been increasing intensity 5% everyday couple days. Im back to 70%

If you know DLI (daily light integral) you can follow a chart like this

@Nicky has a thread on how to figure it out. There’s apps for your phone that use your light sensor to measure your intensity out. Tbh… I can’t find it so maybe someone can post it @dbrn32 …?

Here are other charts I have. I don’t know what the blue type is…

I’m new so I’m trying to figure it out too. I think I have a good plan going forward. But I’m moving with care

Here’s how they looked

I would stay under 50 and be careful

I’m running mine at 20% at the moment

About to be the end of week 5 on friday

How high have you been keeping it above them? And if you don’t mind me asking, what you got growing there? I’m doing some GSCE and some white widow all auto’s.

Probably smart… I pushed mine to 60% during veg and got away with it, but hit 70% and transition and wished I hadn’t. It’ll happen over like 3hrs… fast

I’m amazed some run 100% all the time. I wonder if they grow photos or autos
Also be careful they don’t stretch here in a couple weeks

I just recently downloaded the photone app and have been adjusting % with the same chart that has been shown above on this current grow I have going
Lights are about 24 “ above canopy
I have some toxic weekend going and lemon Macc muffin
I’m waiting for them to show there sex here soon so I can transplant and move forward
I’m keeping top 4 treez 2 of each strain

I have never ran 100% in veg but I have ran 80% at about 24-30” above canopy with no issues

I think i have other issues that contribute. You just need to really have everything tuned in real well to maximize the light I guess… Im at 70 now about 3 or 4 weeks into flower. Im looking forward to buying regular seeds

yep, thank you

What do you mean be careful not to let them stretch in a couple weeks?

Actually I thought he was growing autos…I don’t know why my head always thinks that lol. It’s different for photos

But for autos, it seems between weeks 5 and 7ish weeks… autos, i think some strains more than others, tend to naturally stretch some but if you don’t have enough light they’ll stretch more and get tall with lots of space between nodes

Like this

If they get too tall this…

Don’t think I’ll be running into to much of a stretch problem anytime soon :rofl::rofl:These are 19 days old :joy: looks pretty good for my first grow, I think.

noon, you’ve got time.

Looking great!!

When do photos usually stretch out? I got a purdy MK og bag seed plant that’s about a month old. I’ve topped her once!

That I don’t know or if they even do the same way. But would guess 2 or 3 weeks after turning back lights. It’s been a long time since I grew photos indoors. Way before hybrids

Don’t take my word… Im actually guessing

I went back and found my day 19 pic and I can already see a little stretch and possibly the beginning of nitrogen toxicity…so I suck

This was it 9 days later

Then this was 6 days later or day 34

The last one is day 42

2 Northern lights auto and 3 Gorilla glue auto

I hope this helps
