I had ordered an inkbird temperature controller. My question is will this need to be used to control my exhaust fans? I also plan on adding a fresh air intake fan to run to this controller as well. Can someone who is familiar with using this try to give a heads up on how to properly dial in the temperature in my tent.
I run exhaust 24/7 even in veg to replace the air in the room every few minutes. It’s what was recommended to me from growers here on the forum when I started 7 years ago @TeNNWisKeY. I use 1 controller to turn on the chiller and another to exhaust the hot air the chiller produces. I used to take in outside air with one too. They are good for a bunch of uses.
Right now in my 5 by 5 i have 2, 4 inch filtered exhaust fans that run 24/7. And pull fresh air thru the 2 open screen panels in the bottom of the tent. I know before summer comes i need to move move fresh cool air into the tent. Im wanting to add either a 4 or 6 inch intake fan.
For now my temps run around 80 daytime lights on to between 68/70 at night lights out.
The controller is very versatile. It has two outlets, one for cooling, (fans, exhaust, ac) and one for heat like heaters or heat lamps or whatever. You are able to set the desired temperature and also a range of degrees to stay within. So plus or minus 3, 5 , or whatever range of temp zone you wish. You can have the heat and cool options plugged in at all times and the controller will operate them. You just need to make sure whatever equipment you use with the inkbird will operate properly when power is applied. Some units will not turn on when plugged in and need to be turned on once power is applied. You will need units that will come on once the inkbird powers the outlet. For instance I have one fan that if unplugged and plugged in again has to have the power button pushed to turn back on. This type of fan wont work with the inkbird.
Thats very helpful thank you. Im think maybe running one exhaust constant and the other off the temp controller along with inatake help for cooling. Heating is never really and issue. If anything it could help it stay a few degrees warmer during lights out.
Which controller is it? They have many. I have one for temp/humidity (can hook up a humidifier or dehumidifier), one for heat/ac, one for temp/humidity which hooks up to a sweet inline fan.
