Update on refrigerator drying

Some of the weed I grew this year I dried in the refrigerator about 4ozs for 2 weeks. It has been curing for 6+ weeks I pulled it out yesterday to look at it for the first time since I put it in to cure. It it looks, smells, tastes and smokes better than all the weed that was dried in my shed. I couldn’t believe how good it turned out. Now I wish I would have done more that way. Next year

Sounds like a plan . I have a couple more to chop so I’ll try your method. Mine always dries to fast even with a humidifier.
Do you put it some something, ie bag?

I’m curious about this. What were your temps and humidity averaging? I use Grove bags but im always open to trying new things

I put it in a Tupperware container with the lid on loosely for a couple days then take the lid off. I keep the fridge temp at normal sitting. I flip the buds over every couple of days. After 2 weeks I bring it inside and let it finish drying in the Tupperware then bagged up to cure in grove bags. The difference between it and the other weed from the same plant is huge

well, when you’re comparing it to a shed, just about anything should be better, right?

I’m just kidding!!

So did you wet trim before putting in refrigerator?

I can’t speak for @plumbdand s method, but the way I cure is I haven’t, dry, then cure in a repurposed wine chiller.

Once dried I trim and put them in my wine cooler set to 66*f with a 62% boveda humidity pack in the bottom.

My drying shed has a heater, fans and humidifier I was able to keep the rh around 60% and temps around 70, most of the weed took a week to dry in there

Hmm Wine Chiller. What’s the thinking on this process brother? Cooler temps doesn’t let the rosin and terps degrade? Sounds interesting and I saw a wine cooler for 50 bucks yesterday

No extra airflow in the fridge there’s already a fan in there. I dried a bunch in the freezer as well but that’s all for bubble hash and alcohol extractions. It’s all whole branches of larfy buds that I didn’t want to waste time drying and trimming probably a couple of lbs worth dry, counting stems. Most of it will be used for edibles. Before I put the weed in the fridge I thoroughly cleaned it and then sprinkled baking soda on all to shelves then waited a week.

Is the baking soda to help with drying?

No its just to keep the odor from the fridge from affecting the smell and taste of the weed it’s an old fridge that’s empty in my garage

Here’s my try at fridge drying. I layered the stems btwn brown paper, put in a plastic container & loosely covered with wax paper. The lid wouldn’t fit. Will take that off in a couple days. Flip every couple days & threw in some prayers :pray:t2:

Yeah that’s pretty much how I did it. I used parchment paper for a few days then separated it into smaller quantities and leaned the buds up on the sides of the totes for better airflow. Flipped every few days. Yummm!
