Two fairly different phenos from one strain

My first grow, amnesia fast feminized seeds. Middle of week 7 Flower, Day 43 from flip. Weird to see the differences in these two phenos. “Big Bertha” was my easy growing, no real problems, and almost tripled in stretch gal. “B.B.” started showing Frost and little bud sites very quickly into flower compared to her sister. “Lil Split” had a little trickier veg. “LS” got slightly overwatered very early on, knocked her back a couple days of growth, first topping I split her pretty good which again knocked her back a good week or so of growth. By the time I got to flower flip LS was a good two to three inches shorter than BB but healthy (2 toppings, 6wk veg). After full stretch LL is a good 5-6in shorter than BB. LS took a week or so longer to really start showing Bud sites and frost then BB. Now at week 7 it looks like LS is going to be one heck of a producer with long filled out plumping colas , and BB bud sites are not growing along the stem and creating filled in colas nearly as well. Plus it has many less pistols and less but plumper buds stacking. Guessing BB just really leaned into its sativa genetics? Here’s Big Bertha “BB”

And here’s Lil Split “LS”

I’m using FF Hydro trio only in tupar Coco mix. Is there a 0-3-3 mix you can suggest to add & is it to late to add? At week 7 (day 43) I was thinking I’m close to leeching nutes to zero maybe next week or 2. BB’s pistils & tri’s look almost ready even though small bud sites. LS pistils bright white & tri’s less developed & clearer still. Thanx for any advice!

That first plant looks kinda like it was pollinated, once pollinated the plant stops worrying about making buds and turns to making seed. Check out one of those swollen calyx and see if there’s a seed in it. If not it’s just a freak plant there’s a lot of them out there :laughing:

I wondered if that might be the case, possibly pollinated. I’ve kept a close eye on it and I haven’t noticed any bananas Etc.

@JimmyDuxFan did you start your flowering time when you flip the lights to bloom , the first 3 weeks is transitioning not actually flowering , if you did count those days , take 21 days off your schedule time and thats how long you been in bloom phase !

I did start counting the day I flipped the lights so I’m at day 44 from the first 12 12 day. I went ahead and locked off a little crown of calyxes and cut them open a bit and I do believe I found some very small seeds. Here’s pictures.

Do you have light leaks , are they hermed on you , are got pollinated somwhow ?
21 days minus 44 days is where you at in bloom phase , so you only been in flower 23 days and keep your seeds , youll have plenty for patching !

As far as I know I have no light leaks, the other plant is doing great. So I guess I need to immediately dump the seed plant? Should I hop right in there in the middle of my dark cycle and rip it out or wait a couple hours to my light comes on?

@JimmyDuxFan why you snatching it out ? Let it finish , thats bud , seeds , and useable medicine . Just be more careful next time .

I am new to growing but I’ve always been told seeds in a grow tent are terrible for all plants. Considering I pretty sure I have no light leaks and the Herm gal got stressed the least out of the two and yet is producing seeds & tiny buds, I don’t think I would want to use this genetics again by saving seeds. This was my first test grow before I move from California to a Prohibition state.

Seeds are not bad , just means the plant reproduced , wont hurt the bud quality to bad , and still good weed Sir . If you only have 2 plants , let them finish . Plus you already paid for the dirt and nutrients to get this far , why waste it cause of seeds ! Seeds , bugs , are good so dont think the bud is bad cause of seeds.
You could have brought that pollen in there off your clothes , keep going and let them grow my friend , just be more cautious next run .

Huh? This makes no sense

@Bluntsmoke how ? He flip the lights to flower 44 days ago and counted the first 21 days as bloom phase , the first 3 weeks does not count as flowering , thats transition time , the plants will pre-flower for 21 days and start to flower after the first 3 weeks from the light switch .

@yoshi

This is the end of week 4 12/12 so what you’re saying is I’m really going into week 2? :joy:

I’ve heard varying opinions on when to start your flower time count. Even just went on a hunt here in ilgm last few mins and @ half say time starts at flip day, some say when pistils start showing so @ week 1 or 2 in, and some say @ 3 weeks flat. Just from studying my own 1st grw here I’m kinda feeling the soon as the pistils show time table may be the best, of course its right in the middle of the debated times so I’m not exatly goin out on a limb lol. I’m so upset w my hermoe girl! All that work to throw away 1 of my 2 plants.
