It’s most everyone sharing is what it sounds like.
Plants are looking good my brother. Happy, happy, happy they are
I wonder if some people are getting extra early for Halloween. . o O (
)
So is pinching and twisting stems during vegetative growth good for the plant or can it stress it too much? How much pinching and twisting can you safely do at once? I did this to a few stems and some of them split open, they were droopy for about a day and stood back up but they are still split with a small gap. Just wondering if my plant will grow back stronger and also could i have maybe stressed the plant into having male parts if it is in fact a female? Any help please?
I do this daily, sometimes multiple times in a day
Hi @Tayler52,
Firstly, welcome to my humble thread, you are most welcome.
1, Bending and twisting can definitely be beneficial for your plants, during veg, if done correctly, the plant delivers auxin to the damaged branches, encouraging growth and potency,
I wouldn’t attempt during flower, too much stress when flowering, can cause hermie/male.
When plants are small (4th or 5th node) start with gentle twisting, you want to break down the plant material inside, hopefully without breaking the exterior surface. But, if/when that happens, apply some honey directly to the internal wound (easier with cue tip) and if necessary support with plant tape or something similar, splint if necessary.
2, As to how much, I have bent/twisted every branch on both sisters, most big branches have several ‘breaks’ along the length of each branch to strengthen, shape and support heavy buds, I train the entire plant, once a week, to give recovery time, as the training is usually, very rigorous. Some, like @repins12 train them more fiercely.
I have learnt all of these techniques, right here on the forum.
This is where I started, some great knowledge.
Then I learnt a different style here and combined the two.
I also learned that plants can take a lot of abuse, then bounce back with love and so much more on this thread.
I’m positive these gentlemen wouldn’t mind me sharing their journals, as that’s what we do in this community, share knowledge, friendship and support.
Good vibes and good luck
@Enlightened420 That’s a damn good explanation of HST Brother!!! That’s the only way I roll!
They have been like this for a few days, should i just let them heal on there own
@Tayler52, I would still apply honey (helps the healing process) to the split and something to help close the wound, like plant tape, then in about a fortnight, it will just be a scar. They are still green, so don’t think you have damaged too severely, they are amazing plants and will bounce back from a LOT of punishment, as long as your environmental conditions are good.
I don’t really have anything to close the wound, can I just apply honey and let it heal on its own. And also is it a good idea to pinch other stems or should I wait?
You could always get creative, twist tie, string, basically anything that won’t break the skin, or you could leave it, will just heal faster if closed. You could continue training other branches gently roll the stem between your fingers, you will feel the plant material begin to break down, if you are heavy handed, as I am, I practiced on weeds outside, might sound crazy, but got all the practice I needed without adverse effects to my weed.
I can see it now. Hey ma’ why is that guy making all his dandelions lean over.
Shhhhh, dont stare at him. Look away.
gut laughed at this, thanks bro I needed a good laugh it’s a rough day. You know I cherish being a weirdo and don’t care what sheeple think about me
Don’t look at the weird man Junior, he will corrupt your sensibilities, if you know what’s good for you, you’ll look away boy…
Time for some chill and tunes, I love the improv in this, the chick beat boxing is a great fit with JBT.
Cool, didn’t realise I shared the whole youtube mix, bonus round. Hope you’re all as high and chill, as I am right now.
Beat boxing is always a good fit, if it’s done well.
