Hi,
So I’m wondering if anyone can help me out the top leaves start drooping week 2 of flower. The same thing happened last run as well. Wondering if I might be overwatering??? Pics attached any help is much appreciated
Also the middle finger in a lot of the fan leaves seems to be doing the same
What is your light set on for power, and what is your humidity at?
This definitely seems like a over watering issue impo what kind of nutrients are you using and how much water are you using at a time also how often and what medium are you using?
Could be lights being too high as well, or lack of humidity. Overwater looks the same way, does it perk up a few hours after watering?
Try turning the light down to 50% for a few days. Don’t let your pots dryback either, it kills roots. You don’t feed the roots in flower so you want to preserve them. I am an amateur but I love playing with controlled plant environments. Make sure you have good airflow too.
Humidity is a bit high too. Your led light should be 12 to 24 inches from canopy.
It’s a full spectrum, water only soil designed for cannabis growing, it’s pretty hot out of the bag I’m getting very mild tip burn from it all ready so hesitant to add any nutrients at the moment , it’s only my second run using it. I’ve been watering minimally once day with no run off but I might start every 2 days and see if that helps
Make sure you runoff 10% every time.
I just noticed you are on ammended soil. What kind is it?
As @Demonoid mentioned it could potentially be the light intensity as well but im personally still leaning towards over watering how much water are you giving her daily and what type of nutrients are you planning on using organic dry amendments or synthetic nutrients? If the soil you are using is aimed towards cannabis id assume its a organic soil mix in that case i would recommend not watering to run off as there is no need you want to keep the soil moist but not over watered with organic soil its what allows the microbiology within the soil to properly break down the organic matter into nutrients and make it available for the plants to uptake
I’m using gro dirt, organic soil. They have a huge range of organic nutrients to add if necessary but the size of this plant I’m only watering at the moment
Honestly your plants seem pretty healthy. Do they perk up when they start to dry?
Very true. Not my type of grow, I use non ammended soil with Mill’s line. Watering straight through the soil assures root growth and 10% isn’t a lot.
That is true but with organic soils you dont promote run off or flushing out readily available nutrients in the soil if he was using synthetic nutrients id 100% recommend run off but he isn’t lol @Bjg what size pots are you using and how much water are you approximately using per day?? With organic soil id recommend the 5% rule when it comes to watering Google- How to water living soil scroll down and click on the Build a Soil link he has a plethora of knowledge when it comes to organics and living soil growing
Yeah I’m probably well over 5% at the moment, it seemed to be soaking it up without a problem in veg and maybe has slowed down during transition to flower
Respectfully disagree Grow Bro, the dry cycle is needed, the damp to dry period provide the roots oxygen. Soil should get a drench to dry routine for feeding or watering.
You’re feeding the roots from start to finish
This is what the maker of the soil recommends and it’s not necessarily wrong but there are things you’ll need to take into account that can vary your input of amount and frequency.
Looked over the soil ingredients and I was not disappointed.
Size of pot
Size of plant
Stage of growth veg/flower and what stage of flower. You’ll probably experience more demand for water when in stretch and at end of flower much less demand.
You also need to take into account your environment as far as how hot and how humid it is. If the air is hot and dry they will need more water if the air is hot and humid they tend to drink less.
They are basically telling you to keep the soil moist and I agree with that so it keeps the microherd happy.
I will mist my top soil daily which tends to increase the days between watering. When I water my 15 gallon or 45 gallon pots I’ll do it over an hour or more and not all at once. I may get a bit of run off but that just gets wicked back up into the pots in short order.
If there is a lot of things in the mix like pumice etc for aeration overwatering tends to be less of an issue.
As far as needing to add additional amendments that’s all about how big are the pots….bigger pots…more soil…more soil….more nutrients available and then there is the how long in veg as the longer you go those will be used up at some point as well as plant mass how big they get bigger needs more food.
A wet dry cycle is the norm and I also believe that it’s not just an oxygen thing but that a living soil PH moves up when dry and down when wet allowing different nutrients to be taken up when it’s wet versus when it’s dry…just my observations using soil meters over the years.
Hope this helps and all she’s doing is giving you the middle finger haha letting you know to keep an eye out and maybe modify things a bit.
HOLY BALLS you weren’t lying about the ingredients! Pretty impressive tbh.
One thing I found unique is the fact they’re using tricoderma along with mycorrhiza.
Definitely seems like a good product!
Yeah so far I haven’t found a simpler way to grow, I think I just need to adjust my watering practices. It produces very good end product that I couldn’t even get close to using synthetic nutrients and believe me I’ve tried it all. Organic amended soil is the way to go
How are your plants looking now?
