HELP - WWA Droopy Leaves

These ladies are right at 32 days - The past two days the fan leaves have really started to droop - Any ideas?

plants will droop towards end of day…high heat and other factors.

however, it’s just what plants do. put a little water in the soil and they will perk up in 20 mins.

problems are crinkled leaves, curled leaves and off color splotches.

Look a little dry to me from what I can see

Okay, thanks - I read online the droopiness can be caused by over-watering, so I was perplexed since the soil is DRY.

Yup like its time for a drink. They are past the ‘omg dont overwater a seedling’ stage. Not to say you cant drown them. But big girls = thirsty girls

:::thumbs up:::

Watch the leaves. Early…they are like praying hands seeking the sun and warmth.
In the evening…they are drooping a little cause growing is hard work. Light water in the evening, after the heat of the day is over, will perk them up in 20 minutes.

OVERWATERING…usually shows as drooping yellowing leaves. Really bad and black splotches show on the once green leaves.

The last month of my DWC grow…the ladies were taking so much water, I had to put in a gallon in each 5 gallon bucket everyday. But…this was a very good thing and I was grateful the grow had gone well.

Great analogy, LoL

It looks like you have well draining soil. When you water, are you watering until there is runoff coming from the bottom of your fabric pot? About 10% should come out the bottom. The soil should be drenched. Then don’t water again until the top inch or so of soil is dry.

If you are in a coco soil-less media, like roots organics, you will need to water more often. I water to run-off every other day. I also have the fabric pots suspended up on egg crates to facilitate draining.

Good luck. Your plants look like the are off to a good start.

I definitely have not been soaking them until 10% run-off. My methodology has been to water less, but more frequently, due to a gnat problem that I experienced last year. This obviously isn’t working, so I will give them a good drenching & see how they fair.

Quick question - One problem I do have is that I get run-off as soon as I begin to water, because it runs out the side of the fabric pot before it actually drains through the soil mixture. Any tip to assist with correct watering in this instance? I would think that this would be a common occurrence.

Use a sprayer it takes longer to water but they won’t run out like if you pour it in

Oh man that would take forever, LoL - I currently use a battery powered pump to pump out of a 5 gallon bucket.

Them just loosen up the soil around your plant with your hand. Then water. Works for me !

I just did that & watered the snot out of them - We’ll see what happens.

Well that did the trick - I was apparently being too careful & simply starving them. The very front & very back of the center row are the 2 that were showing the signs of dehydration. They are 5 days older than the rest.
