Too late to Defoliate?

Today is the first day of week 5 into flowering. I defoliated as much as I felt comfortable with at the beginning of week 3 but now I’m thinking I should have taken more off. There’s a lot of bud sights that don’t seem to be getting much if any light. Is it too late into flowering to remove more leaves ? Durban Poison fem, Gaia Green all purpose and Recharge during veg, and Gaia Green bloom only since start of 12/12.

I think it’s too late to defoliate

Maybe it could be okay to take off some leaves that are overshadowing budsites but you’ll want to hear what these guys have to say about it before you do

That’s pretty much the last call for defoliation now, at week 5, you should still have about 3 weeks left… But I would just take away the leaves that are blocking bud sites, if you can’t tuck them away… That lady doesn’t seem to be struggling to get good airflow, so it would only be a matter of uncovering budsites…

I don’t see any benefit to defoliating that plant imo

Nice plant I would let her ride for now. :+1:

Thank you everyone for the advice. She seems to be happy, and I definitely don’t want to do anything to make her unhappy so I’m gonna just let her keep doing her thing and hope for the best.

No more defoliation needed, that plant canopy and below has good light penetration and air flow :love_you_gesture:

Normally after the fourth week, I don’t touch anything. But as it gets closer to the end, I don’t think it really much matters. As long as you don’t take over 20% in one week. But as your plant gets older in the flowering stage, new leaf growth is very minimum.

That is actually a very beautiful plant that will fill them very nicely.

Great advice from everyone Thank You ! I do have one more question. During veg I used a 18/6 light cycle then switched to 11/13 for flowering. Should I keep at 11 on 13 off or switch to 12/12 ? My thoughts are that maybe the extra hr of light could help bud growth, but switching to different light cycle mid flower could hurt things more than help.

Personally, I would keep it at 11/13. Normally, in nature, your light cycle would diminish as the season advance.
