To all the new auto growers

If you are new to growing autos, here is one important tip. Don’t go by how many days they say it will take. Here is my Purple Thai. Ethos says from seed to harvest is 60 days. This plant is on day 82 and shes just starting to have her trichomes turn to milky. Also, I’ve only feed her 2 times with Jacks bloom boost, but did give her cal mag every couple of feedings. Don’t over think them. Just let them do their thing.

Besides you don’t want quick autos because the quicker an auto goes into flower the less veg time it had and the higher chance it’ll be a runt. Ideally you want 3.5-5 weeks of seedling/veg then 7ish weeks of flower

My white widow auto i done 13 weeks of flowering and it could of went another three weeks if i wanted to

Help! Lost track of what stage I’m in. It’s been abt 2 1/2 weeks, maybe 3. Please help me as this is my second attempt. Just transplanted all of them because 2 new seedlings popped outta nowhere. Probably from my 1st attempt.

Just getting started with autos myself. Do you have a recommended ppfd or DLI number to stick with throughout? Right now my ppfd is around 250.
Also I’m using jacks 321 at 50% strength.

They look to be 2 weeks at the oldest. Get them in their final pot asap. I always start mine in the pot that they will finish in.

I’m so glad you mentioned this. That’s exactly what I did and there are mixed reviews on that method. Some say solo and transplant and some say it’s fine.

What soil are you using. If it’s fox farm ocean forest, you shouldn’t be feeding them at all. That soil should take an auto into flower. I typically mix strawberry fields on the bottom portion of the pot, then ffof, and top it off with happy frog. I never start doing any nutes til they are well into flower.

No soil. I’m using Mother Earth Coco/perlite 70/30.

Second pic is them separated. This is my soil

That my friend is out of my wheel house. I strictly do soil.

Are going into something bigger? I go 5 gall pots. I did an experiment on my last grow 2 girl scout cookies and 2 grape ape. 1 seed of each in a 3 gall pot and 1 seed of each in a 7 gall pot. The 2 plants in the 7 gall dwarfed the plants in the 3 gall. 1 grape ape grew about 24" and the one in the 7 gall grew over 50". 5 gall just seems to be the happy medium.

Probably when they get a little bigger. I don’t want to over handle them while this small

My advise is do it now. Some autos start flowering in week 3. Typically its week 5 or 6. My purple kush started before week 4.

Get the transplant shock over with asap. Remember with autos, you can’t control how long they will veg. They’ll flower when they are ready. The less stress is best.

Im sure you’ve seen this chart running around I decided to scribble my thoughts on one and included a line for autoflowers. Obviously we can’t grow by numbers and the plants will tell you if they aren’t happy with what you are doing so this is just what I consider a starting point and watch em for adjustments

Typical for me on autos is 12 to 15 weeks from seedling emergence

You’re welcome sir… I’m not sure it’s the right way but it’s pretty much how I do mine. I couldn’t find anything out there when I started growing autos (just over a year ago) that showed dli for em so I played around and came up with those numbers as ± the way they grew best for me
