I have had some bad foxtails, I just went off of the original buds, because if I went off the fox tails then I would have ended up with way more amber than I wanted on the original buds, I also found that it makes for a pretty interesting smoke being a crazy mixture of trichomes at different stages.
I have an outdoor plant foxtailing and I must say yours looks normal from what I see, an evidence that your plant had proper nutrition as it’s busting out the sides. I will post pics of mine for you to see the difference as foxtail buds are loose and airy
I cut foxtails off. I get them on every grow because I pour on a lot of light. The trichs on foxtails won’t mature as quickly as that on older flower and it makes for an inconsistent smoke.
Those clear will turn white, after the foxtails finish up. This has been my experience. GSC also seems to have that foxtailing trait, I’ve grown some in the past that did the same.
I thought this would fix it too, but seemed to have no affect on mine, if yours turns out differently than mine from turning the lighting down, let me know.
I allowed the foxtails to finish up, swell, and then I chopped. This is entirely growers choice, but I want them to bulk up, ensuring the best thc production. The cloudy trichomes is what I aim for, clear they still have way too much time yet to mature.
Both of my GSCE autos started foxtailing. Not as pronounced as yours. They started right around 6 weeks of flower. Both of them were ready for harvest at 7 weeks.
Mine were right at ready, so I did a full chop. You can snip the foxtails and make oil or something. You can also do a selective harvest, just depends on how ready different buds are. As long as your trichomes are nice and cloudy on the buds, with no clear, and not on the sugar leaves. If you wanna get more ripped, let about 10-20% of your trichomes turn Amber. More amber=more couchlock. Hope this helps.
