First off, I want to thank so many of the peeps on this forum who I’ve learned from, and the great mods that work here keeping the place sane and safe for us all. I started lurking here in the fall of 2023… reading so much and soaking up the knowledge. After reading a ton, and visiting a local store that promotes organic growing, I decided that’s what I wanted to do. Here’s a quick high-level timeline of my grow.
Transplanted to 1g pots w/ Build-a-Soil 3.0 on 3/30. Thanks to @Skydiver and @Reed71 and @ChittyChittyBangin and @LiesGrows for their great all-around support and advice on organic growing. It’s the best, and I still have SO much to learn.
By 4/26 I got up the nerve to torture my girlies. You know that @kaptain3d is the king of that domain - and he gives such great advice on plenty of other topics too.
6/18 and put up the scrog net and flip to flower. Did I veg too long? Probably! All of these first time things make me nervous, and looking back to this flip, I really should have amended before hand and started brewing tea, but next time I’ll know better, right @LiesGrows ?
I think I have a little ways to go?
I raised the light up 8/8 to maybe slow down the foxtails (unless it is just too late for that or maybe this strain just wants to?)
It seems to me, being new at this and all, that trics are mighty small-ass critters. And they look a whole lot different depending on where you look. Are they like suntans? You know, you spend some time in the yard, get a little less pale. Spend the day at the beach, get burnt. If you’re underneath a nice umbrella (say a nice fan leaf), you may have a whole lot less of a tan, then your neighbor who’s been baking under the light all day every day.
Thanks, I’ll look for some of that K. I did brew up a compost tea and used that a couple of weeks back, but it definitely was too late to really help much for this grow. I just didn’t expect them to grow so big and I should have amended much more and much sooner (before I flipped).
I’m using two 15g pots, but I think what I’ll do next grow is go up to 30g. I don’t see how people can do 4 plants in a 4x4. I at least have some room to get in there and tend to them with the two 15g pots. I still have a 4 more bags of BAS3, so I’ll just combine that with the 15g pots and mix into the 30g pots once I harvest these 2 girls.
Here’s a couple of new triche shots from today. They still have too much clear I think, but I confess to not knowing what I’m really doing. I don’t know where to look, and how to interpret the differences of samples that are say high up in the canopy vs more shaded spots, etc. Anyone know of a thorough primer on “the art and science of triche sampling”?
