Does anyone do 24 to 48 hrs of darkness before switching to 12/12? @Hellraiser @BobbyDigital @beardless @Covertgrower @Myfriendis410 @MeEasy @Budz420
Just my 2 cents and my ocd, but I like to reduce my lights by an hour each day until I get to 12/12.
Yeah, it may take 6 days for the transition, but in my head I think it’s less stressful for the plants.
I’ve never tried the 24-48 hrs of darkness unless I’m harvesting.
Not me not sure what it would be for, I know some people are doing that before they cut their plants down
I do something like @Brobdab is saying probably for the same reason lol but I’ve switched it all at once to and didn’t notice a difference
I just change my timer straight to 12/12.
That’s all you gotta do is change to 12/12 no need for anything else
No. I go straight to 12/12 and in a couple of days they are starting to show. I keep my wake time as the constant - I read that somewhere…No problems, no stalling, wall to wall colas.
I go straight from 18/6 to 12/12 too. Never had a problem.
That said, I’ve had stubborn plants not flower on 12/12 and have put them through a 36 hour dark period to trigger them into flowering. I’ve grown a couple dozen plants these past couple of years and have only had to do it once.
Me too from 18 6 to 12 12. Some ppl do do the 24 hrs dark at beginning if it something they wanna try and kick in flower a bit faster off if its an auto giving problems starting flower
I go straight from 18/6 to 12/12 with one push of the button on timer from Veg to bloom. Never had a problem. Good luck
Thanks to all how replied!!
Same here.
I switched to 12/12 a few days back because the girls said so. All the seeds are autos because I don’t need to fuss. So I have a wire shelf rack under my 5gal fabric pots which is now on top on Tupperware Trays like under the bed kind which catch run-off which I can reuse or use outside in the big girl box. the temps float around 71.to74 which I believe is good humindity is in the 60’s . Now here’s the rub. I have some babies upstairs about a week old now waiting to put them in their 5 gal pots. Should I wait for another week. I also have a clone from a skittle plant started in water got so hairy roots and put it in Fox farm ocean soil all are under the grow light system from Burpee noce 78-80"s 18/6 lights
much has improved since this pictures today I spent a couple of hours rearranging things for better growing. More bags to fit and drainage is better bags don’t sit in water and I can wet vac the excess water. They are bigger and looking happier.
If they are autos there’s no reason to switch the lights to 12/12 they will probably do better on a 18/6 and for the others if they are autos you can put them in wherever you want to
Really I DK now 18/6 12/12 24 hours on wht is best
Depends on your lights. If you have powerful enough lights you can get away with 12/12. If they aren’t very powerful, run 18/6 or 6/2

these is what we have they came with our kit. Lower Costs & High Efficiency Light : VS1000 LED grow lights use the latest LED plant light technology including Samsung LM301H Diodes, high-energy efficiency with 2.75 umol/J; Extremely high output but consumes only 100W of electricity, So what is the best way to run these? Right now at 100% 12/12 about 2 ft above the plants. and I know everyone has different ideas and some have more money to buy better lights. So can anyone say the truth
What size is your space?
it is a Vivosun grow tent 4x4x6ft tent I have it in the basement on a pallet that I put on top on it 2 inch Styrofoam and then 1/2 plywood srcewed into thru the foam and pallet.
4x4? Just that one light? That light is barely suitable for a 2x2. I’d probably run 20 on 4 off
