Aloha to you all, so i am on my 3rd grow ever. I am running 1 auto and 1 photo. They are both 21 days old. 6 days ago my new spiderfarmer g1500 light arrived from amazon. nothing big, just figured I’d get a slightly better yield with a slightly bigger light that could still fit in my 2 x 2. It was working great. The bar style light really lit up the whole tent. I was running at 50%. Three days ago I woke up transplanted my photoperiod to a 3gallon pot and topped it. I had also been introducing my auto flower to the sun for a couple hours each day as i planned to move it outdoors permanently. Well with my luck the day i topped, I get home from work to check how she was doing and i see the light off. Everything else in the tent is working, but no power to the light. I tested everything tried different ports, checked every connection. nothing. I ended up taking both plants outside in for the last three days. They’ve been out there 24 seven. The autoflower straight up blowing up looking amazing. Every node that is on the plant is literally reaching for the stars as I did LST to it for the last two weeks. The photoperiod, I am Pretty sure it stunted from the shock. I noticed there’s only about 14 hours of daylight currently outdoors here is that going to cause my photo plant to go into flower? My new light comes in today. Is it safe for me to bring it back indoors and put it back under 18 hours?
You probably won’t see any difference with the auto but getting close to 12/12 you may see flowering start, even at 14 hours.
That definitely sucks with the light and hope you can get a quick replacement.
That’s a lot of stress done all at once, as you saw. It’s better to do that separate. Give the transplant time to deal with the shock and rebound before lopping off its head. The sun shocker couldn’t be avoided, but it would have been lessened.
Not with such a brief time outside.
It’s nearing sexual maturity time, and would start to transition outside here shortly but not right away.
You’d need to treat for pests for several weeks to be sure you’re pest free. Once outside, it usually stays outside. But if you bring it back inside, it’ll be in like nothing happened, and it’ll probably rebound faster for you.
okay, that is a relief to know it should rebound. that is the beauty of a photoperiod i guess. Im Still very inexperienced. My light should be here today. The auto flower, though I am honestly very impressed with how much it’s grown in those three days. It is a different strain from my last auto flower, which was my first however, I never saw growth out of that first auto like this in three days. And I will definitely look out for bugs and pests. Luckily, I don’t have any other plants that will be indoors inside of that tent so I should be able to contain and eradicate anything that may come in I greatly appreciate the advice and I’m going to do the best I can with what you told me.
absolutely. light arrives today. i dont understand why it would just go out all of a sudden. amazon was quick with sending another one out and I have until the first of the month to ship the broken one back so all is good
Photons
being delivered to it. Making use of the energy and nutrients with a warm rhizosphere moving metabolic activities along.
More than likely the driver failed: it happens.
that’s what I ended up determining after reading causes. I guess the silver lining as it happened during early veg versus flower and I happen to catch it the same day.
I’ve had two spider farmer 7000’s both had the driver go out within a year or so, so I moved on to HLG lights and love them
Well, sudden change of plans turned into a series of unfortunate events. After the whole fiasco of the grow light going out and waiting for another one sending the plants outside getting a new light I had my photo. Under the 1502 x 2 and 70% for like four days, under 18 hours of light. A hurricane hit Hawaii I lost power for six days. It was hot. I wasn’t here so it’s in the tent and heat with no light. The light came on. It looked a little pale and droopy, but I figured it was OK especially asking ChatGPT, however after 1 day my photo. Looks like it was hit with a blowtorch.
Give her some love she might, recover these plants are very reseilant![]()

I am trying, only my 3rd grow. So not a lot of experience so I’m hoping to learn some stuff from this run, hoping I can still salvage something out of it. ChatGPT had me lower the light Intensity and raise it up and just said to give it time to rebound the new growth coming out of. It looks pretty good after two days. I was thinking about getting some recharge as well
Just some heat stress. You did the correct thing raising lights and lowering intensity while they recover. Recharge microbes wouldn’t hurt but don’t overdo it. The molasses crystals will cause fungal blooms in the soil. A compost tea would do you better than Recharge and it would be more varied indigenous microbial inputs imo.
Good to know, I’m going to look up how to brew a tea.
Scoop a handful of soil from an active flower bed or growing crop if using store bought compost. You’ll be adding the indigenous microorganisms that are in your environment supporting life.
Do you have an air pump on hand to make an aerated compost tea (ACT) brewed for 20 hrs and applied before 24 hrs (in this case).
If not you can aerate it with a stick any time you think of it. 20 hrs would be safe and not risk going anaerobic. Just don’t add molasses to the brew so the micro heard doesn’t gorge on the sugars and go outta control. Just remember if it smells bad then it is. It should smell kind of like after it rains.
So the damage from no light for 5 days then intense light directly after has almost cleared out and the orange sherbet is thriving and happy. She is 3 weeks into flower, I think she will be smaller buds at the end, however I hope they are solid and taste good. She is starting to smell already.
