Hey guys, I’ve seen tons of different methods people use to start their seeds and lately, I’ve noticed some had troubles getting them going. My way is by no means THE way, but it’s been very reliable for me and I thought I’d do a journal on it for everyone to see and possibly pick up something they can use, especially newer growers who are honing their skills. So, off we go! I dropped three Blue Dream seeds for the wife’s fibromyalgia tonight, they went into a solo shot cup with my well water at 9 parts water and one part peroxide, plus one drop of Superthrive. I don’t adjust ph of soak water, my well is 6.5 as is. They will soak until tomorrow and go to damp paper towels, which I will post in detail, and solo cups will be filled with Promix and precharged with nutes. Cup placed on top of heat mat at 76-77 degrees . The swimmers…
I was thinking of doing the same. Maybe this can be a place to share whole germination processes? Its a question that gets asked a lot and there are multiple successful ways to do it.
So far your method is nearly identical to mine. I have also had reliable results using this method.

Yes sir, of the last 30 or 40, I’ve stopped dropping over one extra as they have all popped and I hate killing good plants!
I think yours should be yours, so as not to confuse. I will start a similar one with the same name, maybe we can make a catalog of successful germination processes. Under that starting title that will make them more easily searchable. But each one being as you stated in its instruction.

All three had tails this evening, so in the towel they went! Then in the nursery under a black cover to block light.
Filled three cups with Promix and perlite and watered in to saturation with Jacks Blossom Booster and yucca wet at 1.1 even and 5.98 ph. They will get planted tomorrow and go in nursery box at 77 degrees.
One of the most important parts is how you wring out the towels, squeezing all the water you can out, they don’t need much and the ziploc holds it in. The reason I’m using bloom bites this early is the high P and K are conducive to fast root development, they will go to veg nutes at transplant.
We don’t have to wait til tonight, they have tails a plenty, it’s time to bury them alive!
Hole punched in Promix, I want my seed covered with 1/4 inch of media, root down.
Then simply cover and in the Nursery, won’t touch them for a week minimum, except to mist the dome every morning and check for helmet heads.
We should have them playing peek a boo by tomorrow night.
As predicted, the seeds popped their heads up today.
And that yall, is how Doc does seeds! I’ll keep this thread going for a couple weeks to take y’all through the seedling watering stage, and we’ll transplant them. The BB Tartz first true leaves are as wide as the solos , they got 4 tablespoons of nute water tonight, their first drink since dropping. I told y’all, I don’t touch them for a week, the Nursery keeps them very happy! I’ll update as they grow.

What is your ratio for Promix and Perlite? And do you have to use Jacks Blossom Booster or is any kind good? Starting to build my list for the next grow.
50/50 by volume, and I use Jacks because I had 4 lbs and it does a good job, very clean and light on salts. Others with the correct ratios will work well. Honestly, plants don’t care where the minerals come from, some sources have to have micros to break them down so plant has the available, other salt based nutes are instantly available, that’s what makes Promix and coco with frequent fertigation work so well with fast growth.
