Getting ready to start nutrients today for my girls. Wk 3 of veg. I have the fox farm trio. Do I mix the big bloom and grow big in the same gallon jug? Also I have a water filter system so my pH is 5.4 how can I bump that up before I water?
Hang tite growbro. I think theres an order you need to follow. As far as ph, check ph after you add your nutes to your water. To bring it down use lemon juice bring it up baking soda. Or get some ph up .
Lemon Juice is acidic
@Adt187 im smoking the dyslexia og tonight. Forgive me.
I added lemon and it brought it way down to like 2.8 for a gallon jug do I add a lot of lemon juice? I added life 4tsp and was still super low down to the 2-3 range.
So add the nutes…can I add them both to the same gallon of water? And then test then handle the pH level all in the same jug? Sorry first timer and first time with nutes
So lemon pH down baking soda to bring it up more towards the 7 mark?
Yes, if you need to bring it up, add a pinch of baking soda mix it amd test the ph. If you get it too high, add a drop or two of lemon juice at a time to creep it back down
Ppm before was really low like 300 I think now after run off and feeding is up to 6000!! Is this ok or way to high?
Did you check your ppm after you added you added nutes before watering ?
Also what nutes are you using
I thought I did but now I’m second guessing myself Fox farm I tested pH but came remember on the ppm now
I would flush to get the ppms down. Do one more runoff and test just to make sure. Also how much did u feed?
Calls for 3 tsp of big brow and 2 tsp of bloom I did 1 tsp of bloom and 2 tsp of big grow
@OGIncognito what do you recommend
@Graysin @HMGRWN
Well hopefully I didn’t mess them up. Ppm in one said 4000 still after almost another half gallon flush but I can’t do the run off and collect on my own so fingers crossed hope for the best and that they pull through the next few days and then fix it again🤦 grow plants they said it’s fun they said.
Mixing order in general goes silica, calmag, micro, grow, bloom then any bloom boosters. Check/adjust ppm/EC. Check/adjust pH. Feed.
If growing autos I’d start at 1/4 strength of what the feed chart recommends. For photos I’d start at half strength. Add 25-50 ppm each feeding until you get to full strength or see tip burn for autos or photos. Also,I would definitely get pH up and down. I use the General Hydroponics version but any one should work fine.
Edit: what kind of soil are you growing in?
Good to know. I’d be scared to death to give my plants nutes at 2.9 EC. I guess that’s why they have flushes scheduled every few weeks.
A good chunk of it is the EC including all the “extras” - the EC of just the Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom (the things that tend to carry the primary NPK) are probably more in the 700-1000 PPMs (on the 500 scale, so that’s deceptive) or a 1.4-2.0 EC. They include their calmag, silica, microbes, etc in the total EC reading - I honestly don’t tend to.
Edit to add: yes, that is why they have flushes. That and the excess fertilizer salt buildup that is simply inevitable with their products. I’m not their biggest fan, but I definitely advocate to help people be successful if that’s what they have handy.
