Hello I have been growing a sour diesel autoflower, for over 9 weeks, and it has not flowered yet. I read some forums and it says to change the light schedule to 12/12. Is this correct?
If its an autoflower light schedule will mean nothing. Autos do just what they say flower automatically without light adjustment.
If you got a photo instead of an autoflower and were ready then yes changing lights to 12/12 should send it into flower within a couple weeks.
Pictures??
Welcome to the community, the last forum you’ll need for all your cannabis inquiries ![]()
But that information is correct my freind.
Sometimes autos just dont auto and are infact photo periods.
Genetics Sometimes just do not play by the rules
.
Some people put it in lights out for a full 24-48 hours then go to 12/12, the ideas is it sends a clear signal that its flower time.
But just straight to 12/12 is fine and just treat it as a photo period…
Nice and healthy ![]()
Thanks I did a 24hr no light before the time lighting change to 12/12, so thanks for the reassurance.
Normally u wouldnt have to switch to a 12/12 u would leave it on a 18/6 but in this case you would change to a 12/12 to get it to start flowering .i just had to do the same with a gorilla glue auto mine was 8weeks old and wasnt flowering
@Deohgie It may also simply be that you have a late bloomer auto. There been tales told in here of some long term auto dilemmas. I hope the forced flip gets her in gear, welcome to the group!! ![]()
Switch to 12/12. Grab some clones. If they take will have a nice pheno. My best gg4 ran 9 generations. Came as an auto seed.
@1HappyPappy @Aussie_autos how long does it take for the 12/12 to take affect?
Pistils will appear at the tips of the plant within a week to 10 days. You may just have a stubborn auto. We’ve seen them take up to 12 weeks to flower.
I agree with @MidwestGuy
Agreed, week or 2 at most…
UPDATE: Thanks for all the help, the plant has started growing pistols a week after I changed the light to 12/12.
Awsome!
Very good to hear ![]()
Grab some clones. Will be worth it i bet. If they die…oh well. You might have a great plant on your hands.
