Hi, I started with 20 photoperiod plants but added 5 fem autos, will switching to 12/12 lighting cause any problems to my autos, the autos are northern lights and are 4 weeks old, the rest are 6 weeks old and from what I’ve learned so far are ready for flowering, would very much appreciate any help, thanks, love this site
Ive actually had similar situations as this, I had six regular around four to seven weeks old and added two white widow auto seedlings to my grow room, then switched over to 12/12 two weeks later.the only thing that will happen is the autos will start to flower.if they are at a comfortable size to your liking I dont see the problem.in my situation my autos didnt veg long enough so the didnt produce but a few grams a peice.my opinion, with autos, I think they should naturally flower on their own.to reach maximum size.they will flower when they are good and ready too.
Thanks elleg, my autos have began to produce pistels, and are a nice height, (about 18inches, I was worried that switching the light schedule might stress the autos, I want to switch to 12/12 because the photoperiod plants are getting big now and I wanted to start flowering those,
My only concern is that 12 hours of light may not be enough for veg.they say that when flowering the plant will half or double in size.i have a few autos im working with now to see how they react with a full 24 hours the entire life span.they also have been fimmed and LST.they say dont do any of that because of stress but mine reacted well
I’m trying 16/8 for my autos due to the fact plants build more resin in longer dark periods , be that intense light decrease THC resin trichomes . You want the most crystals you can help create in your plants by picking the longest dark period , but also help plant finish . That way your buds be very sticky , dense and very compacted with lots of oils and resins .
I agree with Elleg, AAuto-flowering strains will automatically start budding after about 2-3 weeks regardless of the light schedule they’re given.
18/6 or 20/4 light schedule is used. 18/6 is the best. Auto-flowering strains will automatically start budding after about 2-3 weeks regardless of the light schedule they’re given.

I’m running 16/8 on my auto run , being that plants put on more resin during the dark hours , because intense light decrease THC . I was very impressed with my last O.G.Kush grow compared to my first Kush grow . The resin was definitely double using (10/14)…10 hours on and 14 off verses the standard 12/12 light schedule . Plus the 72 hours of complete darkness helps the plant dry out right before you hang them , and also puts on another 5% of trichomes resins crystals . Nothing beats super , super sticky buds !!!
Hell ya!, how you been Yoshi? Sounds like you got that down pat brother.
Give me a shout if your not busy in the next couple days.

I’m still recovering gradually , doing an auto grow . I understand now why most don’t like growing auto’s , because doing most of the vegging , autos focus more on building roots for the rapid flowering , the foliage above the soil seems like it’s growing slow , very crowded between nodes . You cannot just trim from autos , because they will not grow new foliage , but they vegging seems very slow . I’m calculating how long it takes for my two auto to stretched under Led lighting . But I’m doing a thread on my auto 's ( my first time growing auto blueberry and amnesia haze ) .
Yup, thats what a lot of first time growers of autos find out.
I think Tex grew them and that’s what he has said if iem not mistaken… I thought that they were a fast turn-around plant. Taking off two to three weeks off between harvest time.
Autos will flower when they are ready. An auto-flowering cannabis plant, a grower doesn’t have to worry about light schedules. Each auto-flowering plant starts blooming after a few weeks no matter what light schedule is provided. For outdoor auto growers, there’s no need to match up the strain with your local time zone or plant at the perfect time - simply plant autos when you know you have at least 2-3 months of warm, sunny weather.
For all growers in a hurry to harvest, an auto-flowering plant will almost certainly be ready to harvest more quickly than any other type of cannabis strain.
This is what I know about them.
Three month turn around is better than 4 2/2 months.

Thats the very reason I was attracted to autos- fast & easy, not necessary to any light schedule. Anyways after all the problems I encountered due to my own fault/inexperience, I’ve started a new grow in my Cash crop box, hydro, 4 Northern Lights again since I have a whole bunch of seeds from one of the plants I harvested, should be interesting to say the least! Wish me luck!
BTW, will they be feminized autos as well?
best regards,
Mari
You have no guarantee of knowing that all the seeds would be female , the only way to guaranteed female is by cloning from a female . But in seeds is a possible chance some seeds can be male . Even if you buy feminized seeds , it’s only the odds one can be male .
Oh well, that’s what I thought, at least I didn’t have to buy them so I’ll just keep experimenting with the free seeds in the meantime. Hopefully the cash crop box I bought will turn out to be worthwhile.
best,
Mari
I’m sure it will work Mari , keep us updated on your experience .
Day 5 from germination- Cash Crop 4, 4 Northern Lights from my harvested plant, so far looking good.
I think it’s a cool box to veg , but in my opinion , having room for the stretch is limited in that cash box . But considering a sea of green , to grow clones , than that lil box I perfect .
Day 16 progress, growing pretty good so far but wondering how the roots will manage- the box is only about a gallon, I have only 4 in there.
Boy…look at though leaves big and green.
They are looking very healthy they are indica strain.
They look ready for a bigger home.

That’s what I’m wondering- this is the cash crop box 4 I bought from Dealzer- It advertises that you can grow 6 hydro plants start to finish in this box, it’s 3 ft tall. I only have 4 & I don’t know how it’ll end up, will post progress pics along the way.
Watching with interest! I was thinking of a setup like this box for clones, propagation and/or keeping mothers in.
