You can if you want to but don’t have to most people run autos on 18/6 unless having problems getting to flower. I run my white widow autos on 18/6

they seem to be doing fine

Nope my autos go with 20/4 seed to harvest its how I’m able to do 3 month grows since I’m getting more then 1/3 more light every day then a photo plant

My autos go 18/6 for the entire cycle. I raise and lower the lights(or plants)as needed.

If its an “auto” you can run any light cycle and it will flower on its own.
I run mine 24hr but I decided to put mine on a 12/12 in week 7 after it hadnt started flowering.
It finally started flowering around 8 1/2 weeks. No more autos for me,thats just ridiculous.

I grow Autos and Photos together on 12/12 start to finish. I personally feel 12/12 on Autos hurts the overall haul. I say this because I get almost the same weight on different Auto strains but Photos it varies greatly. From 1.3oz to 2 lbs.

I agree with this assessment. My autos grown out on 12/12 generally seem to net about 2-3oz per plant regardless of what it is or how I treat it, while my photos can produce anywhere between 3 and 14 ounces.
