Okay I have two bags of Happy frog that are from last years grow (leftovers)
The bags were never opened until today…Inside near the edges of the bag I found small yellow clumps of dots and what looks like very slight white cob webby stuff…
Ive read some forum answers from its harmless to throw it away and different remedy’s to “fix” it…
Dont know if its Fungi…Mold Bacteria?..
- It was to be used for upcoming seedlings and I DONT want to jeopardize my new crop for this year just to save a few bucks…
Here are pics what do you guys/gals think? @MidwestGuy @Spiney_norman @Skydiver @Myfriendis410
@ All any any member’s…Thank You…

I’d probably get a fresh bag, not sure I’d use it unless I knew what it was. There are mold spores everywhere, I’m guessing that’s what it is but hard to tell. I suppose you could heat it up to kill it also but the time and temps you’d have to research. The guys you tagged are pretty sharp, I’m sure they’ll help much more than me

good advice. Fresh bag replaces questionable bag.
Questionable bag can be utilized outdoors in garden.

Its probably ok to use. Happy Frog is inoculated with several bacterial microbes and spores.
I have had bags do that too when they stay wetter than normal and sit a while in my garage.
The bags set on pallets in the rain sometimes before they are sold and the bags have air holes in them that extra moisture can get into.
I would stir it up well. At the very least use it for tomatoes or something outside.
This is the list of microbial ingredients from the bag…

@DEEPDIVERDAVE @Spiney_norman @WhatsupDoc …
Thank You guys for the quick reply…These were some if not all of my thoughts from what I know about gardening and soil but I wanted a second opinions…My thoughts exactly on using it in “other” parts of my garden…I know these other plants wont give a
about it .
The little yellow BB type clusters looked like a high school science petri dish experiment.
I knew better but got lazy and left the 2 bags on the side of the house, it rained a lot and also was exposed to sun/heat…a perfect storm in a plastic bag …
I flipped the other bag upside down thinking that that part wasn’t exposed to the elements like the top part with air…Viola guess what…No mold or bb`s or whatever…So now I can FINALLY start my already late crops…* Yes I wish I knew for sure what it was but until more future research Im using the good bag for my solo cupped seedlings and getting NEW soil for the Fab. pots…
** also may try another soil from recommended soils some users prefer over HF…I dunno?
Thanks all…
