Getting to about 3-5 weeks from harvest I’m guessing.
I’ve seen a lot of photos on ILGM with colas that seem to have no big fan leaves using the SCROG method. I have more bud sites with my 4’x4’ trellis net than is recommended, since there are more than 1 or 2 colas per 6"x6" square.
Should I thin out the leaves that I have left more than what it is right now? I have been doing it already every few days as larger leaves will shade a nice bud site, but it does look more leafy than the photos I’ve been looking at lately here. Are those photos final pics right before harvest, or are people doing it that way several weeks before harvest???.
Very nice scrog! You definitely can. I typically take everything below the scrog so there aren’t bud sites being blocked. I also only do 2”x2” squares so not enough room for undergrowth to come up.
Okay, there’s basically nothing below the stretchable bottom trellis net as far as buds or even any leaves are concerned. Should I trim leaves between my two trellis nets, or above the top one?
I’d just go with the leaves blocking the lower bud sites. Cleaning everything between the nets would be a pain in the ass and if you have good air flow then really won’t do anything but save some trimming come harvest time.
Thanks - I removed quite a bit of leaves - fan leaves and medium leaves attached to colas that may be shading anything below, even if they were shading the lower part of it’s own cola. The leaves on the ground were about half of what I did remove. Hands got so sticky I had to use Orange to get the stickyness off. Cool.
Rember the stretch after the flip. Fill your net 2/3rds ish then flip and continue to tuck till stretch over. If you wait to long before switch you’ll be out of net and growing crazy
I think the determining factor is space and to some extent time. If you grow more small or a few larger plants how they produce depends a lot on the amount of space they have.
