Hello this is my second time trying to grow and I’m running into the same problems I did before. These seedlings were planted about 5 days ago and None of them look healthy. The leaves are turning brown/ yellow and getting brittle. Any help would be appreciated
Info:
Indoor grow tent
Lights are 6500w at 60% power
Planted in starters then moved to fox farm happy frog soil
Intake and exhaust fans with filters
Humidity is 60-70
The most common cause of seedling loss is overwatering. A seedling should only get a couple ml of water per day. Always let the soil dry out before watering again. Seedlings tolerate dry soil far better than wet soil.
Posting pics will always result in a better answer.
6500w lights do not exist. What are you using for lighting and how many plants do you intend to grow?
I agree with Midwest I’ve overwatered two seedlings just give it time to dry out and then as he’s recommended for me you should put a clear soil cup done over them and mist the cup. Should be plenty of water for the little seedlings and remove when their leaves touch the inside of the cup. But yeah 6500 watts sounds insane
The soil should not be watered at all and should be completely dry if using a humidity dome. A seedling can get all of the water it needs via the humidity in the dome.
FF Happy Frog has everything a plant needs for the first 4 to 6 weeks of a plant’s life. The FF feeding schedule on their nutrient products assumes inert soil. Happy Frog is not an inert media.
Feed only water for the next several weeks. Overfeeding will cause nutrient toxicity.
Happy Frog is a good soil. The FF nutrient products are not, as they lead to problems. They are a salty product which will eventually cause a salt buildup that will submarine your pH and cause nutrient uptake issues. I suggest switching to a product like Jacks 321 when it becomes time to feed in 4 to 6 weeks.
So what is actually happening to them right now, and how do I fix it? Just continue as normal and use water? I have them under clear cups now, just misting the inside
