A question of a fellow grower:
Not sure what happened with the Candy Kush. Started them the same way as other strains inside a wet paper towel then set the sprouts inside small hole in solo cup with Bio Biz light mix 0.4-0-0. One seedling I think maybe got pinched off by the seed shell but the other didn’t grow much of a street and then quit growing after 2 be set of leaves. Waited about a week with no progress and leaves began to die. When I did it out the tap root was no longer than 3/4" long, soil was damp but not wet. Started germinating 3 Rd seed last night , it’s in a baggie in a warm dark place.
The attached pic is the stunted seedling just before it started to will away.
Kinda odd, looks like a good stat. a little more info would help.

HOW TO GERMINATE SEEDS OF MARIJUANA
Any good smoker will be interested in what we are going to tell next. Why? Well, because we’re going to give you the keys so that you can germinate marijuana seeds yourself. In an easy, comfortable and very effective way. Have we already caught your attention attention eh?
More and more people are encouraging themselves to start growing their own marijuana plants, either because of the difficulty of getting cannabis on the street. Because each time the self-cultivation is more accepted and better seen. Or simply because they take it as a hobby.
There are also many other people who at first are encouraged by the self-cultivation. But finally they end up leaving it, because they see it too complicated to plant the marijuana seeds themselves. We are perfectly aware of this. And for that reason we wanted to create a specific post in which we are going to give you all the information so that you can germinate marijuana seeds easily.
And is that the main problem that appears when germinating marijuana seeds is directly related to the lack of information, which leads to perform the process incorrectly and, in many cases, end up leaving it in half.
WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO PLANT YOUR CANNABIS SEEDS?
Marijuana seeds
Kitchen paper
Plastic tupper
X-Seed of B.A.C.
Silver paper in case the tupper is transparent
STEPS TO FOLLOW TO GERMINATE MARIJUANA SEEDS CORRECTLY:
1 - PREPARE IT ALL
Before doing anything, the first thing will be to prepare everything. Take everything you need to have it on hand and not waste time looking for it. Also take advantage of the preparation to soak the seeds of cannabis in the X-Seed of B.A.C. that you have previously purchased. Insert them into the liquid and stir with a spoon for a couple of minutes. Then let them sit for about an hour.
2 - WE GO TO GERMINATION
While you leave the seeds submerged in the X-Seed, go preparing the tupper. To do this, take the kitchen paper and moisten it a bit in water without causing a puddle. Then he covers the bottom of the tupper with the paper, as if it were a bed. Here we recommend that you apply three layers of damp paper, as this will be padded. And it will stay moist longer, which will be very beneficial for the seeds.
3 - PERFORM THE SEPARATION
The next step will be to remove the seeds of the X-Seed liquid from B.A.C. As long as they have kept at least sixty minutes inside. For this, use a spoon and be very careful, otherwise you could damage the seeds. Once you are removing them, go introducing them in the tupper, distributing them correctly. And with enough space so that after the roots do not get tangled up between them when they grow up.
4 - COVER THE SEEDS
Now that you have the seeds inside the tupper, you will have to cover them again using wet kitchen paper. Make sure you cover the seeds in their entirety and that they are perfectly placed between the two layers of paper.
5 - CLOSE THE TUPPER
The next thing you have to do is close the tupper, and you must do it very carefully. Use the silver paper and cover the tupper in its entirety without leaving any surface outdoors. In this way you will be able to keep the paper moist and prevent it from drying out over time.
6 - DALE TEMPERATURE
For seeds to grow properly they must be at the right temperature for it. During the winter it will be more complicated to find the ideal temperature. It is advisable to resort to a source that emits the necessary heat, without exceeding. A good option is to place the tupper on top of the television, the computer, the router … Elements that emit heat, but in no case becomes excessive.
7 - THE NEXT DAY …
Leave the tupper on the device you have chosen for a whole day. When you pick it up again, the seeds should have started to open, and if not. Leave them for another six hours and check the status again. If after this time they continue without opening. Everything will point to that one of the steps has failed, having to start over. If indeed they have opened and have already begun to poke the first roots. You must transplant them to the earth as soon as possible, and always very carefully. Since this is possibly the most delicate step.
8 - HOW TO TREAT THEM ON EARTH?
We enter the last step; the earth. Once the seeds have germinated you will have to transplant them to a pot. Or to a garden that has the necessary amount of land. There are people who choose to pass them to a wad of rock wool or a coconut. But we like the traditional option more.
The earth never fails.
I look forward to seeing the ticket. That plant looked super healthy. If I had to guess the issue it was overwatering
I’m
With @Sixpackdad
She looked healthy in the pic
And would think over watering or streching killed her

This post is about my seedling and was a reply to an email ILGM sent me about my 4 star review of the seeds they had sent me. My reply was full of misspellings so here is a corrected version:
Not sure what happened with the Candy Kush. Started them the same way as other strains inside a wet paper towel then set the sprouts inside small hole in solo cup with Bio Biz light mix 0.4-0-0. One seedling I think maybe got pinched off by the seed shell but the other didn’t grow much of a stem and then quit growing after the second set of leaves. Waited about a week with no progress and leaves began to die. When I dug it out the tap root was no longer than 3/4" long, soil was damp but not wet. Started germinating 3rd seed last night , it’s in a baggie in a warm dark place.
The attached pic is the stunted seedling just before it started to will away.
OK, more info:
Temps were always between 76 and 78 degrees. Humidity at 60%. Seedlings in cups are kept covered by clear pop bottle cut in half with the top used to vent. Seedlings lightly misted twice a day. Lights are florescent 216 watt with HO bulbs. It was stated in my review that I had purchased other seeds and all other strains (6 seeds total) germinated and are thriving quit well.
Pretty sure it damped off from overwatering. The soil looks pretty moist.
Doubt it was over-watered as I didn’t water other than lightly misting. Soil looks damp on the surface due to the humidity cup that was removed to take the pic. This seedling was treated no different than the 6 others that are now in week 1 of veg and thriving. I wish I had taken more pics as this one does not show the almost non existent stem that the other girls had.
Could just be a lame phenotype then.
I understand that some seeds just don’t make it and I really didn’t fuss over it. ILGM asked a question, I answered it and now we are here on the forum because of my answer. The delivery was quick and I am happy with my success so far. Not trying to be rude or ungrateful because I do appreciate help from others with more knowledge, but I did not make this post nor did I know they were going to. But since we are here my mind is open to what ever others think may have gone wrong. Thanks for your input.
Ok then. Best of luck on the rest of your grow.
Welcome to the forum!
Update on Candy Kush seeds.
All 5 seeds were flops. They sprouted but after that they just struggled and eventually died. Every other seed of other strains have done very well and I have been cloning them like crazy.
I find it interesting that on other posts I read that ILGM has been more than happy to replace seeds that don’t live up to expectations yet not once have they reached out to me. All they’ve done was create this thread so that other “growers” could offer advice. Trust me, I’ve done my research and have also consulted with family members who have grown for years and I am confident in doing it right, my results prove it. No worries, lessons learned. It was suggested to me that some posts praising the seed providers may be bogus and created only to make those purchasing seeds feel more confident about buying from them.
My next endeavor is to purchase seeds from another supplier of a plant that has less than 1% thc and up to 20% CBD. ILGM doesn’t sell these seeds but even if they did I would go elsewhere because their 20% failure rate isn’t worth my money.
My advice to anyone buying seeds would be buyer beware.
Ya said they all sprouted, right? Then you could not keep 5 of them alive. So the seeds have 100% success rate. You had a 20% failure rate. Once that seed cracks open, it’s all on the grower whether or not it lives. That said, not all strains thrive under identical treatment. But if all you want is 1% thc, why not just get cbd oil with 1/2%?
@darrelgrows I’m with @bryan on this. You described the seeds sprouted it was successful indeed. If you can provide some photos of the sprout, we can somehow tell if the seeds or the sprouts were healthy or not.
20 seeds last year, 1 didn’t make it (my fault).
8 so far this season and 3 failed. Contacted ILGM 3/22, new seeds shipped 3/25 and arrived yesterday.
ILGM advertises 100% Germination, keeping them alive is 100% all you.
