Hey guys, just a quick question here.
If you start seeds in a soil that is not nutrient rich by any means, and your plants start showing deficiencies, can I use my Fox Farms liquid nuts as a Foliar spray to help boost? I am noticing some yellowing in the leaves and stunted growth.
This plant popped out of the soil June 3rd.
The soil I used isn’t good soil at all, so the NPK ratios are incredibly low. I’ve noticed growth hasn’t been very good lately, and I was just wondering if I use a super tiny bit of the Fox Farms liquid nutes (the one with the tomato’s on it I think it’s big bloom or something ) as a foliage spray to give them a pick me up.
Not sure if this is a good idea to do to seedlings as they are easily nutrient burned. But like I said, a super super tiny amount like less than a drop, diluted in water.
Thank you for the comment!
Yeah I’m not sure what’s going on with this plant.
I read that if the new leaves are a lighter shade of green, almost yellow looking, it could be an iron deficiency. But i was also thinking it could just be a slow plant, some will be like that and later explode with growth.
So I’m hoping she fills out with more green, it’s just a little upsetting when you see something abnormal.
I also read that it could be nitrogen deficiency, which is probable due to the poor quality of the soil.
Nah she’ll be fine. They have the cotyledons to feed them. Keep the watering real light. She doesn’t have a large root system yet so she can’t consume a lot of water. Too much water at this point and she’ll drown.
Absolutely keeping the watering really light. I haven’t watered since June 12th at 8 am. I’ve been waiting until the soil feels dry up to 2 knuckles deep in the soil.
I’ll probably give her a drink in the morning. The soil still felt a little damp this morning.
Do you think big bloom would be okay to water? Giving like a third of the reccomended dose?
Especially giving the fact that the soil is pretty low in nutrients?
I bought one of those floating foam seed trays with the seed plugs. I am hoping that once the seedling is slightly established, I can just add FFBB to the water in the tray. I just need to look at how much, and what could be “too much”.
