Good morning Growmies. I’ve run into a problem. I have run out of room in my seeds storage container, and wanted to know what everyone else is using to store their seeds before I get an upgrade.
Here is what I have at the moment. A 30 slot case from Amazon.
I have them all in little labeled baggies for the most part. From there, they’re in a bubble envelope (well 5), then in a small box, in a cabinet in my grow room. I shoukd really put them in tubes and in the small case my wife got me a long time ago lol. Room has been over 90 and in the low 50’s, and humid and dry. Still poppin.
In packaging envolopes they are sent in rolled together and Put in a pint canning jar that has been wrapped with black duct tape and stored out in garage cabinet nice and cool.
I’ve been using a Plano “field box” I think they call it? Basically a small plastic ammo can. I cut a hygrometer with a seal in it just for fun. The envelope is filled with dry rice and poked full of holes. Little ziploc parts bags can be had at wally world for a couple bucks/100 in the crafting aisle. I keep the whole thing in the fridge filled with veggie and canna seeds.
I keep mine in my safe. It has pockets on the inside of the door, and a couple of them are designed to keep documents cool and dry. I’ve always kept them in there, and I’ve sprouted many seeds that had been in there for a few years, no problems.
I would recommend you keep them like you got em an put in fridge they stay fresher for longer you don’t want your seeds sitting in the warmth cool dark place
