In some ways, you’re better able to evaluate the effect, which is how (IMHO) we should arrive at the specific plant(s) (not strain) that is the best medicine for us. I didn’t see where she mentioned loss of smell.
One small point, if you’re growing mother plants, you want more than 16hours of light out of 24, since some scotoperiod plants will flower with less than 12 hours of darkness per day.
@pptrsha1 has the decreased sense of smell. My bad. I must have been overly medicated. I knew any light schedule less than 12 on would be a problem. You are simulating conditions (light wise) that tell the plant its winter. I do appreciate any knowledge you care to pass my way!
I think 14/10 is the greatest dark period I’ve seen in veg.

@KeystoneCops was telling me about how you can buy little bottles of terpines to get a good idea what they smell like. Told him it wouldn’t work for me (and you). But when you try a strain you can look up its terpines. If that plant gives you what you are looking for then you might try others with the same terpine profile. Now I know you know a thing or two about pot. You can grow it. Its just a plant (an amazing plant). It needs a medium ( dirt, coco, hydro), light, and water/food. Don’t make it any more complicated. I briefly experienced anosmia this year after a persistent sinus infection; I can’t imagine having to live with that long-term @pptrsha1and @patchman . Every meal was like cardboard.
You get used to it. What choice do you have? I enjoy the textures of food now. We both have a sense of sweet,sour, and spicy. I can remember what things used to taste like. But I can’t say I don’t miss the smell of bacon frying, or the smell of pot.
I would hate it if I couldn’t smell or taste anything. I’m sure it drive you crazy. Atleast you have a great adauatute.
