Scrug, new build, indoor, hydro, Lucas formula

Sorry I forgot also adding. 3ml per gal. H2O2 34% food grade. Sterile res.

One more thing … after reading back thru…I check the ppm of my well water and the ph before adding anything to it … then when I check the ppm of the solution I know what it started at…gives me a better understanding of my numbers…I am adding straight formula back to my res as needed…change res. Weekly or 10 days…Happy Growing

What kinda extra additives you messin around with over there Stonecold ? I have added minimal amount Diamond nectar , cal mag, h202, silica(as of today). Rotating additives weekly. This Lucas is brand new to me. Kinda ‘Spooky’…Happy Growing

Sounds interesting, I looked on Amazon and only found 12% concentrate H2O2?

In the past I have added diamond nectar and Koolbloom only in bloom stage

I think alot of your problems are because your res is to big for the number of plants in your system…
Basically what im saying is , your res is so big that the plants are eating more of some things and not enough of other’s, so its leaving alot of nutrients in the system that nobody is eating, because its just not the right time or because its an overabundance of certain things when they need something else…
Smaller res will lead to better control at optimum levels at just the right times…
Hopefully im making sense… :man_shrugging: :upside_down_face:

Look at Food Grade hydrogen peroxide. It is different from other types in that it doesn’t have the stabilizers like the 3% over the counter has. It’s then a matter of remembering to add only .3ml not 3 ml…stoners have to write everything down…my note pad overfloweth…and changing the res. Regylarly . I’ve been keeping way to close an eye on this grow but its working…cept I get no rest…feed every 3 hours like baby goats…lmao…Happy Growing

I hear ya, but I will say it takes 20 to 25 gallons to run a cycle, sure a lot of it gets pumped back into the res, but it needs the volume to complete the cycle. Floods for 15 minutes every two hours. I’m running 12 five gallon pots, they don’t fill all the way. I do believe that what I’ve read about the Lucas formula makes sense, that going by the bottle on the GH line is over dosing them.
Hopefully one day I will get er down correctly, although I must say, I’ve always ended up with some good smoke

I get that your an ebb & flow…
Flood and drain…
Problem is old tired nutrients…
Flood and drain times could also add to the headaches…
And now your bringing back all of the un-used nutrients to flood your plant’s, over and over , based on a huge resivor holding alot of nutrients that nobody is eating at that moment , but you have crazy nutrient levels… :man_facepalming: :man_shrugging:
And nobody is hungry… and what is your ph during this time… :flushed:
Nobody knows…
You need a smaller res and then you can really start to monitor your plant’s alot easier…
Hopefully im making sense…

Im gonna get you some dang pics of my red-neck set-up…
It works so wonderfully well…
I have just set back and watched until now…
Lots of good info here…
But…
How many ways have you grown is what i would ask here…
I have tried so many different ways , that i think it boils down to having the best results for the system that you built for the space that you have to work with…
You can definitely achieve your goals in alot of different ways…
But every different way has a optimal way to reach its highest level based on trial and error…
Thats me…
Trial and error… me … :index_pointing_at_the_viewer:
I just stay in the shadows, until nobody has any other suggestions…

Here’s my red-neck vegg area…
Basically, 2×3 to set up for flower…
Plants dont care in vegg…
Stuff-em , cram-em , they don’t really care…

I run a perpetual grow with 3 different tables…

As we get along into the grow its going to be really similar with the Lucas Formula just minus the grow which cuts down on 75% of the nitrogen. Last Grow in RDWC I never went over 800 PPM with reg. 3 part GH and still had more nitrogen than ideal. Sounds to me like you have your system figured out. Im pretty excited about running the Formula. So far results are very good. Happy Growing

No worries, photo :bomb: all you want. Last 2 grows, using my 4’ x 4’ scrog 1 plant would completely cover the netting. But it would also foxtail which I believe was due to too much lighting, should have dialed it down in bloom, I believe.
So I’m learning, will see what happens this time around using Lucas formula and dialing lights down in bloom. And moving on in future grows I will look at a smaller res, but I do like being able to leave for a few days and not worry about watering.

Good Morning Mntman…I wanted to be able to tune my lights in a bit better so I got the Photo - bio quantum par meter. Im trying to pin down what the plants actually are supposed to have and what they really want. I can honestly say there is no way to be anywhere close by eyeballing it . And always way more light than I think it is. Probably can get a comparable quantum par meter cheaper???

Good morning RightAway, I have that meter, and I’m going by advice from @AfgVet, trying to run 1000 umol’s in veg, then dimming it down to around 600 umol’s in flower.
I’ve always ran out of height room, so by doing it this way, the ladies don’t stretch as much ( hopefully) and I can control the lighting better. With that said, I’m also doing 12/12 lighting from day one, and although I’m running photos, they will transition into bloom automatically. Not sure on the yield I will get this way but hoping on at least 8 per plant. Before, even though I would foxtail, I would get between 8 and 12 on average.
