Scrug, new build, indoor, hydro, Lucas formula

Here we go, day 29 of hydro, about day 21 of veg. Tent temp lights on 81, RH 62%, PH 5.88, PPM 1080. Umol’s between 900 and 1020, having to adjust light height daily.
First 6 California Dream, 3rd plant has two pics as I wanted a close up of the leaves, has some whitish spots.

These next 6 are Critical Mass, all 12 are ILGM photo fem’s the last one is a stout little lady, she has shown signs of starting to take off a little the last day or two.

Added straight water last time to the res, getting it down to where next time I add nutes, it will be by the recalculate by Lucas formula.

Thats to cool on the meter (great minds think alike) (lol) …so my plants are 21 days from seed…I’ve only gotten the umols up to 680 so I should be looking for at least 1000 during veg.? I am hoping for 1500 if I don’t run into problems. I understand mid summer outdoors is like 2000 . Which is supposedly atainable with co2 supplementation indoors. I use 1000watt double ended HID’s so the light is available if the plants can eat it or not is the question . I gotta go move some firewood , suppose to snow on my freshly split wood at 8am . Hope your day is good. Happy Growing

Please do not take my advice as of yet, I’m just learning to dial things in, as I’ve said before on the umol’s I’m going off others advice, or should I say suggestions according to my pitfalls in the past. I have never kept my lights this close before, but I have always foxtailed 1/4 to 1/2 way thru bloom. I’ve always ran out of head room, so this way I’m trying to keep the plant shorter so I have more flexibility on the umol’s at the end.
My only other option is to build an enclosed, well insulated 20’x30’ inside my 30’x50’ metal building with a 12’ ceiling so I have room to let them go, and can still adjust lighting. I’ve seriously thought about it, dividing it into 3 separate rooms, 1 veg, 1 bloom and 1 dry/trim/lung room with the later being the smallest but so far can’t justify the expense (with the wife) :joy::joy:

I’ve never had a meter til now and after using it for this short time I’m wondering how I ever grew a pot plant …LMAO…use to ‘adjust’ my lights with the back of my hand ( if it dont burn ya its good ) I can only wish I was joking…lol…thank God we don’t stop being capable of learning…so I have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of foxtailing is caused by dark period light contamination…I have recently 'discovered ’ that canabis is one of the most light sensitive plants , even more so than poinsettia which is all about photoperiod. When you reveg buds they always foxtail and this is where the new vegetation occurs. My thoughts , food for others thinking…

Check out this video. I think this is where he talks about lighting.

Yes Bugbee has the latest . I only wish he had gone more in depth on plant stages and intensity at the fifferent stages. He left me way to much room to interpret. Thank you @AfgVet …Ive been edging my lights up a little each day or every other day , at 680 yesterday , 3 weeks from seed. So far so good. I’m also doing something different in that I run 48 hrs on 4 off, when they look tired I allow a 4 hour rest period. The guys a slave driver , I tell ya…lol…

Day 30, or day 22 of veg. PH 5.7, PPM 1070, tent lights on 85, RH 56%, umol’s between 890 and 1030. Looks to me like it’s starting to transition to bloom stage.

This second photo, I’m just asking you all if this looks normal, before I don’t remember just what looks like hairs coming out like this.

If you think I’m right and it’s looks like it’s starting to transition to bloom then I will start adjusting my lights slowly to get down to around 609 or 700 umol’s

Looks correct, she is just showing you she is mature and ready for life :green_heart::metal:t2::cowboy_hat_face:

Since I have hip replacement on the left hip Tuesday, I’m thinking Monday drain the res, and fill with new everything for the Lucas formula. Adding a touch of diamond nectar and kool bloom. After surgery it will be 3 or 4 days before I can get back out there, going to show the better half how to use the meter and adjust the lights. I’ve ordered the food grade H202 35%, and will add .02 ml per gallon once it arrives. It’s looking like a smaller yield per plant from what I’m used to, but hoping on tighter buds without foxtailing.

Good luck with that surgery man, maybe have the better half bring water samples you can keep an eye on pH too :+1:t2:
Plants look good, some may need a little thinning and some may need their backs broken but they look to be on point for a nice haul :green_heart::metal:t2:

Backs broken? That’s a new term for my limited vocabulary lol

I usually thin around 2nd week of bloom, then try to leave them be unless fan leaves start blocking light to Bud sites

Good luck on the hip surgery. Will keep you in my prayers  for a successful operation and a fast and complete recovery. Happy Growing

Just was reading back thru… you will want to use .2 ml of the 35%… you had posted .02…typo ?..I have been using . 3 ml…which equates to 6 drops per gal. Gotta say it works really well, I still change out the res. About every 10 days but it stays crystal clear… Expecting good results …Happy Growing

Keep your lights going strong until around week 5 or so of flower, then start dimming them as they ripen. They’ll need the light to bulk up

Good luck with that surgery!

Day 32, from 1st introduction into ebb and flow.
Changed res this morning, 55 gallons as I’m not sure when I will get back out there, but will crawl if I have too if water gets low.
1st time changing to Lucas Formula, and think I made my first mistake, although I think it’s a minor one. Added Silica, and Hydrogaurd (waiting for my H202 to be delivered Thursday) took ppm and ph readings. PH 7.18, PPM 386. Used charge back formula (my mistake) put in 800 PPM as my target, I think I should have used 600 instead. Added micro and bloom, PPM came out at 826, PH at 6.7, used ph down to get it to 6.0-higher then I like in hydro. I will let it go through a few cycles today, and this evening recheck it.
Tent 82 lights on, RH 64%, umol’s 850 - 1050 depending on plant in conjunction to the light. Water temp 68
1st 6 California Dream, ILGM Fem Photo. Only the 3 rd plant seems to have curling leaves.

#6 is actually starting to grow a little, not much
